Great walking around the very old cemetery left there when the town closed down the old gravestones have suffered from erosion but you can still read a lot of them

Visited to view a ghost town but there was nothing there apart from a sign telling us we were in Known, plus a few signs indicating what building used to sit on that spot. We had a bit of a walk and found it a very beautiful countryside and very peaceful. Would normally have rated this as average, but when... More

Guys stick with the Super Pit tour it's the one to do. I can't believe the town even promotes this one. The view of the mine is from the employees car park looking at the mill... Big deal!!!.. The ghost town is just that .. Even the ghosts have let .. There is nothing there. If your bored out of... More

Head east off Goldfields Highway and turn onto Williamstown Road (which becomes Yarri Road) ... you need this detail as it took us three days exploring to find this, which is what we initially set out to discover. The teen (girl) and I had a blast, it made us laugh, the daughter rolled the eyes and grinned, plenty of photos... More

Who ever demolished EVERY building in that town site needs a serious shake the only trace if some dodgy signs and a sort of rail platform such a loss would loved to have seen some trace of the town building not so much ghost town as just more bush

It is a pity that this old town is now just a paddock with little sign of the old town....all gone. The historical sign post put up by a gold company some yearts ago are now fallen & destroyed leaving no signs for tourists.....a pity and a vast difference to the presrvation work done at places like Gwalia.

Really interesting to see how from a large town in less than a century it disappears. Both graveyards (old and replacement) worth a visit.

Two poles in the ground and nothing else, are they serious in putting this on the things to see and do. At least put something there please, we missed it the first time and nearly ended up in the Alice.

Well, there isn't much left, just a few grave stones and a story board. But the stories were worth the short scenic drive. The kids enjoyed doing a little prospecting near the Kanowna mine whilst we were there.

Went to see and drove right past it the first time, there is absolutely nothing left of the town at all except for a few rocks. Not worth the effort, I appreciate the history but there literally was nothing left here.
