An excellent experience for everyone
Oct. 2021
We have found on our travels that WA does excellent museums and Hannan North Tourist Park is a perfect example of this. Once again the entry cost was minimal you could comfortably, as a family, come without it breaking the bank and you could easily spend two to three hours here, longer if you bring lunch and have a picnic. There is a variety of exhibits mainly focusing on the time of Paddy Hannan but there are a couple of later displays too including two large pieces of mining equipment as you first enter the park that you can climb up on for photos.

⛏ Mining Gem! 💎
Jun. 2021 • Family
What a great experience. This unexpected gem is a great place to visit to get a good understanding of the size and scope of mining equipment, as well as a look at how mining was done in the past. There’s also a prospecting area where you can find gems (and apparently some gold). Staff were welcoming and friendly. Facilities were clean and well maintained. Highly recommended.

An interesting and worthwhile visit. Well presented, great original exhibits at an actual mine site and the Chinese garden was excellent.

A great way to spend a few hours
Jul. 2021
This is probably one of the best attractions around and a great way to spend a few hours immersing yourself in the history of Kalgoorlie and the history of goldmining in the region.
The attractions are good, although some of them are a little "tired" and need maintenance.
The gold panning was one of the highlights, we spent hours there, finding lots of gemstones and 3 tiny flakes of gold, which was disappointing.

This is also the perfect place to take the kids as ours had hours of fun.

A must-see attraction that should be on every visitors list when visiting Kalgoorlie.

Interesting!
Jul. 2021
This is a huge place, although some parts of it are repeated, such as the three or four Headframes, but it looked like an excellent place to visit with little kids because they can run themselves ragged all over the place. Definitely take the time to visit the Chinese Garden - very peaceful. We didn't pan for gold as it was just too cold to put the hands in the water! Great gift shop and very friendly staff.

A view into history

We have spent 3 days in Kalgoorlie and this was maybe the best thing we did in a busy schedule. Great displays and really well set out. Great for adults and kids.

Engaging and hands on
Jul. 2021
Worth a trip. The displays include real mining equipment, a haulpak (Tonka Truck) and excavator (Digger) that you can climb all over and get in the drivers seat. An extensive historical mining display, with two-up ring. A gold mining river where you can find real gemstones and pan for gold in the water.
The staff are excellent. They showed genuine interest in the children's mining "finds" and brought a genuine enthusiasm which really added to the experience. The gift shop is well thought out too, with lots of inexpensive gems, crystals and gold. Spent quite a bit of money and time here but the kids enjoyed it.

Great Museum

A little tiny drive at the top of Kalgoorlie. Now incorporates the Chinese elements of history. Great little talks and exhibitions. We saw the Gold pour. Easy to walk around with kids.
