A locally operated business who has exclusive access to conduct Super Pit Tours which takes you to the KCGM Super Pit Operations. Throw on a high visibility vest and safety glasses and come and experience a tour of Australia’s largest gold producing mine, the Super Pit. You will be visitor inducted to the KCGM Super Pit and view the mining and milling operations through the Fimiston Milling Plant from the safety of the Mine-Spec Bus (Air-conditioned). Be amazed by the size of the 793 dump trucks as we travel along the haul roads on site with the trucks. The view of the Super Pit from Harvey Hut will take your breath away as you see the old miner’s workings with old shafts and view the modern mining machinery working in the pit. Our tour guide will be more than happy to answer any questions you may have while on the tour, you can also feel free to bring along your camera for some fantastic photos!

We had traveled from Perth the day before to go for the tour. Unfortunately, the tour was cancelled on the day itself, reportedly due to troubles with the bus. This was extremely disappointing. On further checks with people in Kalgoorlie, we understand that this is NOT the first time that the tour has been cancelled on the morning itself. We wasted the travel to Kalgoorlie and hotel costs incurred with this visit. A poor show by the tour operator

Super Pit tour while in Kalgoorlie is a must do!
Wes our tour guide made this tour what it is. Informative interesting with just the right amount of quirky humour! This mine is absolutely massive and has to be seen to believe! Photos really don’t do it justice!

One of the best tours I have done anywhere, Wes is a tour guide without compare, he adds his own humour to his vast store of knowledge about the mining operations and you will come away both better informed and well entertained. Don’t miss this.

I see many people enjoyed their tour, however I suggest you watch out for these people. My tour was cencelled 30 minutes before I had to be at their office, with an excuse that was barely believable for 7:30 on a Monday morning. I see this has happened to others too, and strongly suspect they cancelled it because they didn't have enough punters, but no mention of the need for minimum numbers while I was booking it. I travelled out of my way, taking up 2 days and a night's accommodation costs in order to take this tour. Not good enough! Read all the reviews, and note the other issues.

Excellent very good tour explained really really well. Got to go up close to machinery and got to go in an out of where they extract the rock to make the gold best views and excellent tour guide Wes

Excellent tour with a friendly, knowledgeable driver who had worked in most areas of the mine for many years. The super pit is amazing and best viewed from both sides to get a better understanding of the enormity of it. Definitely recommend for any age group.

you can’t complain about the service because there is none!
Booked & paid for the super pit tour looked forward to it, then they phoned and cancelled us giving 2 hrs noticed. They couldn’t care less!

Don’t take your kids! The bus was 30 degrees inside, we dressed in the required long clothes only to exit the bus for 10 minutes. The other 2 hours were spent parked in the sun, driving through the lay down yard and looking at laminated pictures of gold being poured and props of the process. The aircon didn’t work, it is incredibly expensive and boring. I couldn’t apologise more for putting my kids through this. The free viewing platform will give the the same experience as this excessively long, hot and expensive waste of time.

I was hoping to go up to Lake Ballard 15th May or 16th May but no tours so would there be anybody going that way for a hour or more to see the statues etc who could offer a ride ,willing to help pay for fuel etc .

We don't have any tours running to Lake Ballard, nor to i know of anyone who would be heading up to Lake Ballard on them dates. I would highly suggest contacting the Kalgoorlie-Boulder Visitor Centre, they are cheap car hire available for visitors. Its not a bad drive up to Menzies. They had a beautiful little cafe there and a nice information centre with great information on Lake Ballard in it, then it is a short drive out to the Lake. The Kalgoorlie-Boulder Visitors centre contact number is 9021 1966.
