Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Tarcoola Beach is probably the best beach in Geraldton, it seems to have the fewest amount of local mean drunks trying to fight you for no reason and peeing on everything like another beach that I am not allowed to review for some reason. The Tarcoola Beach has not great access but once you are on the beautiful sand heading out into the water to catch some waves or watch the scenery go by it is really lovely. We enjoyed our time here, not a lot of people around except for some windsurfers and amateur surfers like us. Check it out!

Stunning Tarcoola Beach is a long stretch of beautiful beach that I walk along with my dog. The section between African Reef Resort and Southgates never has many other people around and sometimes I a have been lucky enough to even see dolphins playing not too far off shore.

A lovely beach for an early morning walk and at the right time of the year the water is clear for swimming and for children to enjoy. The sea with white horses is attractive when the Southerly blows and the Sunsets are stunning to watch from this beach. It is popular at the right time for surf board sailing.Fishing at the right time of the year is also enjoyed by many, who try their luck early in the morning. Dogs are allowed on a leash and further South they may run free. The Southern area of this beach is also used to exercise horses each morning and they are a delight to watch .
Seaweed is brought in with the tide at times but otherwise it is lovely for walking, swimming and kite flying.
There is a shower to be used by swimmers and a decent car park.

Beautiful place to stop and stretch your legs from the road trip. The beach is dog friendly and has areas for on and off the leash. Because Geraldton is usually quite windy the water is choppy. But always fresh. Somedays you will get more seaweed than others. Probably not great for a swim. But definitely a walk.

This three-kilometre beach stretches from the caravan park in the north, to Southgates in the south. On a fine, windless (rare) day, its a pleasant beach, where it's surprisingly possible to walk for some time without spotting another beachgoer. Renewing our acquaintance with this once very familiar beachscape, we noted several changes, but thankfully nothing major, since leaving Geraldton nearly three decades ago.
There's some restorative dune revegetation, a new car park or two, a dual-use cycle/footpath, some new signage and a cluster of new oceanfront homes; while adjacent Glendinning Park now boasts family-friendly amenities it lacked in the eighties.
It's a pleasant beach or pathway stroll, even in cooler July weather. Swimming and body-surfing is enjoyable too, especially when the water is weedless and less sand-churned... .
Tip: Fishing the southerly shores at night in warm weather can produce some excellent mulloway. In past years I've caught 'kingies' too large to transport on a motorcycle here... and once lost an all-night battle with a mighty fish which spooled me, destroying the gears of my Mitchell 489 reel in the process... .

A lovely beach and one of the few that you can see dogs enjoying the ocean and the kids having fun with their pets. Parking close by and has some nice view of the light house in the distance. Take some drinks with you as a good walk to find a shop.

Another beach in or near Geraldton and full of dogs having a ball running around.
The people are friendly too, and it's a pretty big beach area. Looks nice and clean and the waves don't seem too rough.

We took our grandchildren of 5,7 and 9 years in the morning and they all had fun.
One body boarded, one jumped the waves and the other built sandcastles.
Best free fun around :)

Guarded by a small reef, the beach is a perfect place to relax and unwind. We sat at one of the many park benches watching thew sun go down. Absolutely perfect sunset. Next evening we made sure to take our dinner. What a brilliant way to unwind. If the wind comes up, move. The sand whips up into a frenzy and stings the legs.

No, from memory these no overnight camping including in vehicles. There are many caravan parks around Gero but your best bet is to take a drive up to Coranation Beach 30mins north. It was around $5 per site about 5yrs ago. Hey have you downloaded the ap 'WikiCamps Australia'. The best ap for free camp sites, but also includes other useful info. We got it the first time we drove aound Oz 5yrs ago & used it again just recently (has many more features now) Anyway hope that helps.
