Overview
Geraldton is one of the best places in Australia to fish for Western Australia Rock Lobster and this tour lets you peek behind-the-scenes of the local fishing industry. Set sail on-board the King Diver ship, cruise out to see the pre-set lobster pots off the shore of Geraldton, and watch the crew pull the lobster and re-set the pots. Get hands-on as you help sort and size the lobsters, and even get chance to take home some of the fresh crayfish.

Do not miss this cruise....it is amazing! We went on the last cruise for the season and were not disappointed. From the start to the end it was everything we hoped for and more. The sights, the wildlife, the cruise and the fellow travellers were outstanding. I want to give a huge, huge thank you to the following. Jay, our skipper who stood in for Bronson at the last minute. Liam, the engineer who kept the boat running smoothly and didn't miss a beat. Liam (#2) who took us out fishing and found the exact spot for the big ones. Even in huge swells we were safe. To Ethan and Lucas, our deckies and tender drivers. You both knew exactly the best spots to find the fish and coral. Tom, who was on his 1st tour of duty, you fitted in perfectly. Mary, the Purser, who made sure we were all happy. Alex and Guila, our snorkel guides, who looked after us in the water. And finally, Ray, the chef extraordinaire. I didn't realise there were so many ways to cook crayfish. Your foods were top class. Lastly, Howard, the naturalist on board, who took us all over the islands describing the wildlife and history of the area. You brought it all to life for us. If you get a chance to visit the Abrolhos Islands don't hesitate. Eco Abrolhos are the way to go. We are saving our pennies now to join them in the Kimberley!

Just before Easter, my husband and I did a four-night, five-day trip to the Abrolhos Islands (offshore from Geraldton in Western Australia). The remote islands are beautiful, in their own way, but they are also historically important, being the site of the "Batavia" shipwreck in 1629. Our experience with Eco Abrolhos as a company was simply outstanding. It's not cheap but was worth every single cent. The crew worked extremely hard for very long hours, ensuring that we passengers (29 of us in all) were happy, entertained, informed and extremely well fed. There was fresh lobster on the menu every day. The weather was good so we were able to snorkel on the site of the famous shipwreck and explore the desolate islands where the survivors came ashore. The professional Eco Abrolhos staff ensured that we had the best possible experience of this little-visited part of the world. Thanks very much to the team - you exceeded all our expectations.

Sea lions, seals, ospreys, dolphins and fish of every description. There's some amazing history in the area and the Captain is an expert on what's going on - past and present. Well organised but also able to quickly pivot to maximise the conditions and weather. Captain was very conscious to be respectful of the environment and a real champion for how an eco cruise should be run and managed. A real eye-opener and something for everyone.

Cruise to the Abrolhos islands - 5 nights/days and we were lucky to have good weather for most of the trip. The staff were super, helpful, informative, and enjoyable. They made the the trip very enjoyable for me. Food was delish - crayfish almost every meal, fish that we caught and meat for those who couldn’t eat seafood. Great coffee !! Activities for everyone —snorkelling, glass boat views of the corals and fish plus visit the wreck of the Batavia. Fishing!! Crayfish pots !! The boat needs a good refit, It’s showing its age. The boat they use for fishing takes 8 people, and in my opinion it’s too many - always getting fishing lines tangled . Just too many people in a small space and if the boat is rocking, there really isn’t a place to hang onto . I think there should only be 6 (preferably 4) for safety reasons.

We did the 5 day Abrolhos cruise. What a great experience. The crew were superb & so knowledgeable. Meals were a culinary experience - well done Chris the chef. The islands are fascinating & packed with history. Not the shipwreck coast for nothing!!! We walked on pristine beaches, pulled craypots (& ate the catch) & snorkled. Loved it all. The Kimberley trip is now on our radar.
