Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Whilst in Geraldton it was recommended that we visit the Lavender Farm. On entry, we were really impressed with the staff that greeted us as they were friendly and rather talkative. Unfortunately, that was about where it ended as we had ordered the scones, jam and cream which was supposed to be their signature dish. The jam and cream were lovely but the scone was so crumbly, it was difficult to spread the cream, let alone the jam. Yes, we were very disappointed with the food quality and won't be returning or recommending it to any friends visiting the area. The only plus was the service, which was exceptional.

I visited this place in June last year and I haven't actually been back since, so whether or not my review is an accurate reflection of the place may be debatable.
Lavender Valley Farm is about 15 -20 minute drive out of Geraldton CBD up Chapman Valley Road. As well as being a Café, they also have a small shop selling Lavender based products.
As I understand it, this is a very popular place with seating inside & out. It is advised that you ring & reserve a table should you wish to eat inside, however, myself & my wife eat outside.
We just had drinks & some cake at a table outside overlooking their Lavender Fields. The service on this occasion (which is subject to having changed due to length of time passed) was actually quite slow for a cold drink & piece of cake. That said, it was fairly busy for early afternoon, so I guess the service was a reflection of how busy they were.
The Café itself is very clean & tidy and the gardens outside are also kept in pristine condition, with the lawn being immaculately kept. I only had cake to eat and it was very nice.
It is a little out of the way but if you are looking for something a little different, then it is definitely worth a visit.

Fantastic chicken filo pie, quaint little gift shop and gorgeous gardens. If the interior could be made a bit more cosy and cottagey, less sterile, it would be just beautiful.

This place was okay. I was expecting it to be a little more picturesque based on its location, but it's pretty much just small lavender bushes in a row with an outdoor area, café and gift shop.
The gift shop had some nice things and the café seemed to have good food, however we didn't have any as we had just come from breakfast elsewhere. The outdoor area was cute with a life-size chessboard.
There were loads of flies around the lavender bushes though which sort of ruined out short walk around the farm. Could just be seasonal; hopefully it is.

Lavender Valley Farm provides a gorgeous setting for lunch and the opportunity wander around the lavender field! The food was home made and delicious. I had the pea & ham soup of the day which was packed full of flavour and served with a slice of rustic grain bread. My mum had the roast beetroot & feta quiche (which looked more like a tart) served with a side garden salad. To finish off our lunch we shared a rich mocca cheesecake served with a dollop of cream, and peppermint tea. I would definitely recommend if you are visiting Geraldton. The little shop has a good selection of lavender products too!

My husband and I went for lunch, nice views across to the hills watching farmers seed their crops while black rain clouds came towards us. Good choices on lunch menu, I had chicken & camembert filo parcel with salad and hubby had vegetable lasagna with salad, both were really nice and salad was fresh we then finished off sharing a piece of coffee kaluha cake which was equally as nice. This is a great little spot for a weekend lunch.

Went there for lunch on a weekday to celebrate a 75th birthday. The gardens are beautifully kept, the food was delicious and the staff were so very friendly. Would recommend a visit there. The view over the paddocks would be even better in winter when the hills are green.
