Stumbled across this little gem on our way home to Perth. We were looking for a coffee fix and Oakabella Homestead exceded expectations, just a short 2min drive off the main road took us to a nice historic tea room with welcoming staff. The Plain, Fruit and Bush Tucker scones were delish!!

We went to oakabella station early April and the sense of history was absolutely amazing!! There are a few different parts of the station to have a wonder around and look at and we also got taken through the house for a very reasonable price!! So glad we stopped into this place as was well worth it 😊 the only... More

Dear Msclair Flies, flies, flies and more flies, because in April it is the time for them!! Most people, especially locals are aware of this and wear appropriate head wear that we offer as in 'fly nets'. So sorry that a fly net wasn't offered to you. As it so happens, forty five paxs off the cruise ship were supplied,... More

Wonderful walk back through history on this old homestead, fabulous chat with our guide Paul and a very yummy morning tea of hiy scones jam and cream, this is a definite stop if you enjoy a bit of history and wonderful stories of the olden days.

We headed north to check out the old and allegedly very haunted Oakabella Homestead - what an amazing historic location to visit, really give you an idea of how difficult things were for our first settlers out in the Mid West, that a side a nice little coffee/cafe/tea rooms with cold drinks (gets hot out there) and coffee, tea scones... We came out for a hoon and get there and it was shut! Do not begrudge having a break, but "closed" signs on the highway would've been good. Will try again next time we're up this way.

ROAD SIGNAGE IS just off NORTH WEST COASTAL HIGHWAY as MAIN ROADS DEPT does not permit any on the major highway. Two very large signs have been erected with other signage just left of Hatch road stating we are closed until March 1st as it is our annual holidays. Further down the 3 kms track is 3 other signs that... More

We were reading some reviews about this haunted campground, we were intrigued so we decided to spend a night at this place. We arrived around 8 o’clock at night, it was dark, windy and the place was empty, just the perfect scenario to give you the chills. While we were looking around someone arrived… it was the famous Loretta! She... More

We recently spent 2 weeks camped in the paddock at Oakabella. We didn't originally plan to stay that long but we have all the time in the world and we just felt so peaceful there. We learnt more and more about the property's history each day and was always greeted with a warm and hearty smile from our host Loretta... More

My husband and I stopped here to get some history about the area, and about Oakabella itself. While we were mildly entertained by Loretta, we very disappointed in her extremely distracted delivery, lack of facts, and rather blasé way of answering questions. There was no overview, continuity, or cohesive account of the site's history, and when I asked if she... More

A gracious host and interesting place come together at Oakabella Homestead. Loretta was very resourceful with all the information and stories about the place. My friends and I were so glad that we stopped by at this "haunted" place. Her special homemade sconnes were delicious and 'complimentary ghost' was a pleasant surprise. Highly recommended for a visit when you are... More
