Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

I had been working in the Kimberley at the Broome Visitor Centre for the past 3 years & as a traveller myself I am always attuned to what tourists want. What attracts them to visit certain locations etc. I had always promoted Geraldton because I enjoyed our time there as visitors in the past and was keen to pass on to fellow travellers what not to miss.
Geraldtons foreshore has enjoyed a bit of a revitalisation since we were last there & while staying with relatives this time we were keen to check out all of the revamped foreshore art installations. "Horizon" was one that I had not heard about until we were taken to see it. Congratulations to the artists & to the City of Greater Geraldton for their great work.
Wow, what a stunning attraction. It certainly generated quite a bit of interest at sunset with people arriving in time to capture a photo at this lovely time of night. Adequate off street parking, a wide meandering footpath, lovely lawns & picnic shelters nearby encourage locals & visitors to linger longer. We even returned the following morning for another look.

It's called The Big Marble on Google Map and it's worth a photo stop at sunset. We saw sunsets at Dongara and Kalbarri beaches, but this one happen to give us the "best" sunset in terms of seeing a perfect orb go down, even though there were some light clouds around. The Big Marble/Snow Globe art adds a lot more interest. Doesn't seem to much else in the immediate area other than BBQ stations.

Was just driving past the beach when caught sight of this giant glass globe overlooking the beach. Went back at sunset to have a closer look and maybe capture some interesting photos of the setting sun through the marble.
A sign nearby says this piece of art is called "Horizon", but it is called The Big Marble on google maps, and it is indeed a giant glass marble! The sign doesn't really tell you much about it other than to respect the art by not climbing on it, and gives some useful photography tips.

Horizon is a rather unusual sculpture on the Beresford Foreshore. It is a 1.5m sphere of clear 40mm acrylic with 1,800lts of water inside. The light reflection inverts its surrounds. The combination of art and physics.

This was one of the things I wanted to see while visiting Geraldton. I'd seen it online while looking up things to see and do and it stood out to me as something really cool and different to photograph. Its the sort of artwork/sculpture that everyone can enjoy.

You can't miss this driving North out of Geraldton along Chapman Road. It's right by Champion's Bay Beach. It's basically an art piece and a tourist draw. Best time to visit would be prior to sunset.

"Horizon" is a large glass sphere half filled with water which reflects the horizon. Great at sunset.

Well worth a visit, was here 2 years ago. Still a thought provoking object. Unusual, yet amazing at the same time. Looking forward to another return visit
