Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

I ordered a pizza and my wife the pork belly. My pizza arrived in a reasonable time, with no reference to the missing plate, and no serviettes or cutlery. After I had eaten half my pizza my wife complained to a waitress, who said she'd check on it. A few minutes later, with no reply, I told the waiter that we were still waiting, and I had nearly finished my pizza. He brougjt it out a minute later and put it down and walked off with no apology nor any gesture of compensation. Also I wouldnt eat out the front if you dont like dogs. The food was good, butlet down by poor service and kack of customer skills.

The Hollow has improved so much over the years, we really enjoy coming here now. The food is lovely, the drinks are cold, the sunsets are awesome.
The only down fall is the cigarette smoking under the outdoor area. Part is non smoking, and part is smoking....unfortunately the wind doesn't stop at that imaginary line, and a lot of smokers don't care if you are eating, or have kids with you!
This place would be a 5/5 if the whole balcony was non smoking😀😀😀😀😀😀😀😀😀

An excellent place to swim in summer or take a stroll in winter. If you dont want to go down to the beach the car park is along the beach so you can sit in the car to admire the ocean or watch the magnificent sunsets.

Terrible terrible and tasteless.
So disappointed !!! Was excited to hear that the Hungry hollow were doing roasts again. Came here for the Sunday roast after reading some of the reviews.
It was cold ! Sent it back and it was apparently reheated but was still cold.
Worst roast meal have ever had and couldn’t eat it. Veggies were mushy not crisp like roast veggies and the Yorkshire pudding a shrivelled up burnt lump.
We also order other meals and they were horrid, pale insipid looking chips .
Never again- waste of money .

Hungry Hollows beach is a sandy beach next to Back beach in Bunbury.
Usually there are small waves sometimes bigger ones.
The water is crystal clear and there is a small reef just off the beach where snorkeling is possible.
I enjoy the silence and isolation here. Here you may find a half dozen people sometimes the beach is yours alone.
I love to walk along the beach towards the lighthouse and enjoy the splendid sun sets into the Indian Ocean from the beach.
Access to the beach is easy, parking is readily available just off the beach. Hungry Hollows Tavern is opposite the beach with drinks and meals, there are special days for meals, which are then very cheap and nice.
i lived there for several years before moving to Perth and swam there every day of the year.
I still call the beach Copacabunba, a reflection to Copacabana Beach in Rio de Janeiro where I been several times as well.
A nice beach experience for people who can swim, it's not for poor swimmers or small children.

Went to the Hollow on our first week in Bunbury and was very impressed. The menu covered a wide range and the prices were reasonable. The food was excellent, hot and served quickly. The staff were friendly. We visited again with relatives and once again we were not disappointed. The view across the ocean sets of this place. Will be visiting again on our next trip to Bunbury.

There's a long stretch of beach in this area, starting with the main Back Beach near the lighthouse and Wyalup-Rocky Point, and going south a few km all the way to Mindalong Beach (beware: that has a `clothing optional' area).

The entire beach along this stretch is very nice, and easily accessible via Ocean Drive. There are lots of places you can park and enjoy the beach here, and the Hungry Hollow Beach is one of several spots. I suppose it just has a separate listing because it has some toilet facilities here, and there's a busy tavern just across the road.

Personally I prefer the main Back Beach just north of here - the water is a bit more clear, and the facilities are more extensive. For going swimming, I'd opt for that instead. But the whole coastline here is a nice spot for a dip or a beach walk, and this is probably a quieter spot than the main Back Beach.

Great spot for a morning walk, a lunchtime stroll, or a twilight meander. We really love coming here (except on ultra windy days!). It's clean, there are amenities nearby and the Hollow Tavern is a good place for a cold drink or a glass of wine or beer. Great spot.

This beach feels unique. I have visited beaches in Queensland and New South Wales, but this beach has something magical about it. I really cannot put my finger on why.

I visited fairly early on a Sunday morning and it was very quiet apart from a few people on their morning stroll.

There are plenty of car parks as well as cafes to just soak in the atmosphere.
