Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Back Beach is one of this southern city's most popular beaches. It's great for paddling or swimming; you can also fish, and cook you catch on the BBQs. Back Beach is on Geographe Bay, named after the early French explorers. Bunbury is not known for its surf, so the attempt to create surfable waves with the Airwave project created interest.

The back beach cafe is a real gem of a cafe, and a wonderful find. We have been coming here for years when ever in Bunbury, and have et to be disappointed. We came this time for lunch and the service was excellent. Very friendly and inviting. We had the fish and chips for lunch an it was delicious. The fish (2 nice sized pieces) was some of the best fish I have had in many a year, the chips were slightly overdone which made them noce a crunchy which I loved, but my wife wasn't too sure, and thre salad was great. My only grizzle would be that there were too many chips and not enough salad, however I am sure that if we went again, the staff would arrange for less chips and more salad. Apart from the excellent service, fantastic food, warm welcoming experience, the views over the beach are outstanding. We come here at least once every trip to Bunbury, and this will continue.

Beautiful beach. Good to chill, swim, picknick or go for a walk! Plenty of parking and close to the centre (walking distance).

If you love the sound of the waves crashing onto the lava rocks then the northern end of the Back Beach is for you. If you love the sand and surf then the southern end is for you. If you wish to enjoy a picnic or a BBQ above this beach this place is for you. If either of these don’t rock your boat you can head the the Restaurant at the Lighthouse Resort at the northern end or the Back Beach Cafe/ Restaurant at the southern end.

The grassed area is great for a picnic lunch while gazing out to sea. Well worth a look. Often see people fishing from the rocks safely.

The Back Beach, Bunbury is quiet, beautiful and clean. The waves were just the right size when I was there.
The beach is fairly busy on weekends but lovely and quiet during the week. There are a couple of ovals behind the beach to picnic and I've been told there are also some free bbq's.

The Back Beach in Bunbury from just south of the lighthouse to the groin in the north is a fabulous dog beach. Lots of rock pools and sand to run about on, waves to catch aged great smells. Of course, always pick up your own dog poo and put in the bins provided

You can walk to this beach from the town centre and it is a fabulous beach, clean water, white sand, facilities and places to grab a drink or snack, great beach and worth a visit when you are visiting the town centre.
