Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Beautiful location with lots to do.
Enjoy the new adventure playground or have something to eat or drink at the great kiosk / cafe.
The beach is awesome and pretty safe with minimal waves. If your lucky you might spot a dolphin or two. We came in the winter but it's absolutely beautiful in the summer.

What a lovely bay. Wonderful for just a walk along the waterfront or to sit at the kids playground with a coffee from the cafe right on the waterfront. Walk to the dolphin centre is on a couple of minutes. And by the amount of people in the water swimming is pretty good also

Took our visitors to Koombana Bay where we all enjoyed a coffee at the kiosk and then viewed the various attractions and amenities. They decided to enjoy a lengthy beachside walk and take some photographic memories home. Very excited with their experience when collected later.

I have been here many times and for different reasons the most current was for dinner on a hot night. It’s just so relaxing and calming. The children happily played in the playground and I just sat and watched the boats and birds.. you’re often lucky enough to see a dolphin playing in the shallows

This beach is very calm and protected. It has wheel chair access. A kiosk. Toilets and showers. Shade and grass. Plenty of parking and a huge playground for the kids.
Has free gas BBQs and some tables with benches.
Oh and some great local sculptures.
And Dolphins !!

Koombana Bay is just nearby the Dolphin Discovery Centre. It's a nice place for picnic. We were quite late to see the dolphins by the shore but there is a cruise by Dolphin Discovery Centre which is on scheduled tour to choose from. But we had an enjoyable time just to have a quick a lunch, feeding the herrings gulls at Koombana Bay before continue our journey to Fremantle.Edith Cowan University, Bunbury is also nearby.I was thinking either to stay in Busselton or Bunbury but I am glad that Bunbury is also a nice place to stay for 3 days and it's about half an hour to 40 minutes to Busselton.

We saw dolphins swimming in the bay. There's picnic tables and parking very close to the beach sand. We bought amazing cakes at the local bakery and had afternoon tea under the shade of the trees on the grass.

The region has currently been redeveloped and there is an excellent café that is right in front of the bay and a great play area for children. It is a great little stop over for those long trips down to Margaret River, which was named one of the regions to visit in 2019 by Lonely Planet. There are also some excellent Chinese restaurants in the area and a newly finished dolphin discover centre that caters for children and adults. Please make an effort to stop by this facility if possible. The views from the café are worth the break.

Credit where its due, The Koombana Bay foreshore area redevelopment is a major improvement in facilities for both locals and visitors to the area. What was once nondescript is now a delightful area to visit and to showcase a prime area of Bunbury. The Dolphin Discovery Centre redevelopment, additional parking, a walkway along the foreshore, children's playground, refurbished kiosk, ablutions and change rooms, plus much more. We visited particularly to view Wardandi Boodja, a 5.5m steel bust which takes pride of place in the redevelopment. Truly Impressive and a credit to the artists. Free WIFI available if suffering social media withdrawal.

This is a beautiful spot with dolphin sightings. About 35 live in the bay where sharks don’t come since it is so shallow. The volunteers watch and record dolphin activity. Most of the dolphins have names. Cute!
The dolphins come up to the beach and photo opportunities are frequent. Mesmerising!

Preferably early morning or late afternoon. There have been dolphins spotted in the bay near Aristos café which is near the silo's. There is also boat access near Aristo's for those who want a seafood lunch. (roughly between 5:00am-8:00am in the morning) and (4:30-7:00pm). There are also two beaches at Koombana, Jetty Baths is on the other side and then there is the main beach, both are calm, child friendly and shark free. Just watch out for crabs.

Yes, but there are better options at Jetty Baths. There is also another kids playground at Jetty Baths and several other restaurants. You have Vat 2, Aristos Café and the Dome. There is also the Bayview which is great for drinks. Taffy's is also worth a drop by- it's the local sweet shop.
