Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Located very close to the city, it is a rocky beach, of ancient lava flows that have weathered the test of time. I wouldnt say it is good for a swim as it is choppy and rocks can be dangerous. I loved the wading pools and the flows that come from them to the sea. Nice place to view the sunset.

This is a good spot to take a pause if you walk around Bunbury's coastal pathway, located midway between Back Beach and the lighthouse and an easy stroll from either. The sandy beach here is suddenly interrupted by an area of eroded blocks and columns of black basalt. Sometime in the deep, deep past there must have been some major volcanic activity right here. Nowadays though things are much calmer. There is a small lagoon behind the rocks, which looked as though it might be a good spot for littlies to take a dip, and it also seemed to be quite easy to skirt the rocks if you wanted to take a swim in the ocean.
On the shore immediately adjacent to the rocks is an extensive area of lawns that offers covered picnic tables and barbecues, as well as an amenities block.

Wyalup-Rocky Point Basalt Rock is a very interesting rock formation on the beach just north of Back Beach and has free parking nearby.
I was here in the late afternoon and the tide was out so I was able to walk on and amongst the rocks here. Not sure what it would be like when the tide comes in and how far it comes up.
Well worth the visit.

This is a fantastic spot to visit on a sunny calm day - and when I was here today with some overseas visitors, it was outstanding. There's lots of parking right here, and it's right adjacent to a grassed park with toilets, BBQs, playground, and other facilities.
There's also a walk trail that goes right along the coast in both directions, and you can walk for a long way south from here along Ocean Drive. Back Beach is only a few hundred metres south from here, so it's an easy and pleasant stroll between the two.
We walked from the car park onto the beach, and onto the rocks. Waves were crashing on the rocks, and it was very picturesque. If you're looking for a spot along the coast to stop and enjoy what the Bunbury coastline has to offer, this is definitely a top spot, along with neighbouring Back Beach.

Further up the beach towards the lighthouse, you have the rocky point. Standing the test of time from years gone by the volcanic rocks stand and add to the atmosphere. Not the sort of place you would go for a swim but great to watch the crashing waves.

I walk here most days, but I never cease to enjoy this spot. Wonderful surf crashing against the rocks, great fun hopping amongst the rocks and rockpools.
