About
A land and seascape sculpted by the elements over millennia. Arches, islands and rock stacks are dotted along a wild coastline of beach coves and spectacular lookouts. The wild Southern Ocean has carved a stunning collection of rock stacks and sheltered bays with clifftop walks, scenic lookouts and small beach coves near Peterborough along the Great Ocean Road. Perhaps overshadowed by the Port Campbell and the Twelve Apostles down the road, the Bay of Islands Coastal Park offers just equally spectacular experience without the crowds. Dogs are welcome on a lead at Sandy Cove near Murnanes Bay.

worth stopping for a look. Great rocky outcrops within the bay created over years of erosion. Pretty views and excellent photo opportunities. Well maintained walk paths.

Like most parts of the coast the Bay of Islands was interesting and beautiful even on a windswept cold day.The coast scenery changes with every step and all worthy of some time.

Loved this stop. Beautiful views with a very accessible walking track. Was quite cold and windy when we visited however this did not affect the beauty

Another stop of point on the Great Ocean Road and another great view of the rock formations. So much birdlife at this point, including species we hadn't seen before (the Australian Shelduck was most unexpected). Access to the beach is available from the boat ramp access which is a little further up the road. Blowing a gale but worth being buffeted about for the view.

Bay of Islands is an extension of the Great Ocean Road coastline, so don't turn off at Port Campbell, there is so much more to enjoy up to Peterborough

With the current low international tourism occurring driving this amazing road is easy and peaceful observation spots .

Incredible to take in the various Rock forms and environment surrounding them.

Enjoy the towns you drive through , they need some tourism dollar help too

Loved it really. Certainly see why so many people stop here. We actually did walks in the area as well. Nice area. Certainly is dramatic scenery.

We live here so I may be biased. But just take your time and visit everything the great ocean road has to offer between the 12? Apostles and bay of islands.
Slow down take it all in

Take your time and pull in to all the brown signs on the way. Beautiful coastline. Stay in the area to get the most from your trip so you are not rushed!
