Bay of Islands is really worth of visiting, despite of the masses of tourists driving along the Great Ocean Road. Most of the stops are really worth of stopping.

Visually stunning, especially at sunset. It does get busy in peak holiday times. But the photo opportunity makes it invaluable.

Saw the bay of islands from the lookout on land and was totally overwhelmed with the coastline, then saw it from the air via helicopter and it just gave a hole new view on the bay, well worth the drive along the great ocean road.

Definitely worth pulling in at the Bay of Islands at the western end of the Great Ocean Road. Beautiful landscape so don't forget your camera!

I would pack a Rain Coat as early September , there is the usual spring rain, and it may be windy and chilly so a warm jacket would be needed
