Lovely setting

Quaint old cemetery, lovely setting. No toilets and minimal shelter. Could use a better information board to help people looking for family history.

This is a great spot to wander round and imagine life as it was many years earlier. There are lots of very old graves even some from last century and it is amazing to walk among them. If you are looking to do your family history/tree adn your ancestors come from this area then the Tower Hill Cementery should be... More

I had to go to the cemetery for a work commitment. This cemetery was not a place I had considered as a tourist destination. However, when there you see the most magnificent view of the sea.The cemetery has historical significance; one grave houses Billy McLean, a shearer who stood up for the rights of the workers with difficult consequences for... Excellent Cemetary. Plenty of grass and fresh air. The graves are spacious and well presented. Just dying to get in there!

Whilst we were randomly able to find some relatively old graves, dating back to the 1850's,. it would be useful if there was a chart somewhere that pointed out the precise location of the more historic grave sites.

Top place for a picnic and met the local wild life. Set in an extinct volcano has wet lands to bird watch, great walks and learn about the local aboriginal tribe.

We were researching family members and were lucky to contact the lady who is on the cemetery committee. She met us there and was able to show us our ancestors' plots which we would never have found otherwise as they were in unmarked graves. Looking at the headstones of many of the graves one saw that in the 1880's so... More
