Warrnambool Art Gallery’s collection shows the vision and aspiration of this region and its people. There is an air of possibility, a maverick spirit, and a collection of myths, risks and experiments. These collective imaginings have made the Gallery an important space that explores the essence of the modern Warrnambool — how its people see themselves, how outsiders can gain insight into the unique culture here and what it might become. WAG is a social hub, a custodian and meeting place that provides culture and education. It is a place where people come for activities that inspire, question and create positive, creative communities. Take a moment to explore our Collection and plan your visit to the Gallery and the region.

Always drop into the Gallery to see the latest exhibitions. Shaun Tan was on when I went and it is well worth a look. My French friend was impressed.

The regional Warrnambool Art Gallery was interesting for about five minutes but the collection seemed sparse for what appears to be a prosperous city. The music played was doleful and the artworks not of the highest quality. Worth a quick look but don't expect great...More

There is a really active art community in Warrnambool and the gallery is testament to this. Have a visit; it's free then pop into the local artist collective cuter up the street (The Artery) where you can purchase local art pieces

We called in a caught an interesting special exhibition at this regional art gallery by Hobie Porter. It was a modern take on the area and references a colonial painting of Tower Hill by Eugene von Guérard (1811–1901). Tower Hill is an old extinction volcano...More
