Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

This is an excellent example of what can be done with a reclaimed tip. It’s in it’s early days as a garden but is still very interesting. If you do have mobility issues then it is quite possible to get around. The only hard part would be getting to the top. All the rest is fine.
Walks along both the Broken & Goulburn rivers. Lots of birds - Egret, heron, cormorants, ducks. A few benches scattered about with a couple of picnic areas. It’s definitely worth checking out.

So very disappointing. Desperately needs weeding and mowing. Mounds of dirt rock glass and rubbish. Limited access for people with a physical disability. Have visited some spectacular and very diverse gardens around Australia and unfortunately Shepparton does not Stack up.

Great place to see what can be done with reclaimed land fill. Awesome selection of native flora. The use of recycled building materials very clever. Future works will only make this place a great experience.

Such a thoughtful addition to Shepparton. I cannot wait to return in a few years to see this wonderful garden. Great walks & so much detail into the construction of this botanical garden.

Shepparton has grandiose plans for these gardens that are a long way from fruition... I thought that it must have been a recent addition to the landscape of the area...but no. I spoke to a local who tells me it's been this way for a few years. Formally a landfill site they have transformed the area and for that you should give them credit. It does have amazing pathways as well...so if you are going to ride your bikes around ... this is a great place to do it.

The access for anyone with mobility issues is limited... you leave your car and walk, if you had mobility issues you would struggle with the hill. There are no permanent toilets here, no cafe... no formal carpark. It's really a work in action.

As such I would not go out of your way to head to this garden, unless you want to go for a walk or a bike ride... it has areas where there has been work to be done, but I feel this is going to be a long project for the area.

Another review here labelled his review as "Rome wasn't built in a day" and to be honest, that is a very accurate descriptor.

Enjoy sunrise or sunset from the top of the lookout, with expansive views in all directions. Follow the geometric and winding nature of the gardens as it tells the story of local people - if you are lucky find kangaroos munching in the shadows.

My favourite place to hunt for wildflowers in the springtime.

The botanic gardens is a gem, it’s a beautiful place to connect with nature and take in sunrise or sunset. The new bridge connecting it to town and the shared pathways makes it so accessible.

They have a master plan of what the garden will look like upon completion, I dare say that the master plan will fade away in the sun before completion of the park. The view from the viewing platform - “col de Shepp’” is impressive compared to the other hill at the Shepparton cemetery. Otherwise Shepparton is dead plan flat.
There are no toilets.
There is no drinking water.
No shade from the sun.
But there are plenty of flys.
On a positive note entry is free.

The development of these gardens are in the early stages and we could tell it will be a beautiful area in the future. There are currently no facilities here and while some of the paths are now asphalted it is not so easy access for people with disability as some are on a reasonably steep incline/decline. Nice walk for us able bodied people.

Amazing use of the old tip. A great walk, patchwork garden my fave. Awesome views of Shepparton. Great dispersion of natives.
