What was meant to be a love of the ocean that the collectors wanted shared has been profiteered from.

Happy to pay a gold coin donation to keep the place going but what we found was a ‘museum’ that hadn’t been dusted in a decade, water tanks that were half empty and full of slime and several other confused customers wondering around thinking they’d have been better off walking down to the beach.

Hopefully they use the $20 I paid for two adults and a 5 year old to give the place some love and respect for the people who donated these treasures.

Never saw so many different types and coloured shells! Not only an incredible collection of shells but the displays were very well done. There were many gifts made of shells for purchase at reasonable prices. There were shell chandeliers, ornaments and a huge range of tiny little animals and things made of shells.
Entry is free but if you’d like to visit the aquarium as well there is an entry fee for that section.

Was ok, bit tacky, felt sorry for the seahorse and other things that had been taken out it’s natural habitat for us.

I saw a real seahorse in the water , that was special.

Love this place it’s been around for years! Lots of shells, decorations, dinosaur stuff, crystals to look at and they are reasonably priced.

My Grandkids ask to come here every time they visit. Lots of stuff in the large free shop area and heaps in the area out the back that you pay to see.

The shop area is a sea shell enthusiasts paradise. It's a step back to the 1970's. Lot's of souvenir's and sea shell brick and brac to buy. I purchased the extra entry fee for the marine and miniature train display. I felt this area needs updating, the marine display was quite sad. The fish tanks looked neglected, and the few live marine animals they had on display lacked the natural environment they would experience in the wild, very sparse and neglected aquariums.

Little treasure trove, I just visited the gift shop but it has so many shells and trinkets it’s definitely worth a look, kids would definitely love to pick something up. Museum entrance is $8 for an adult.

What a lovely find along the Esplanade, a real treasure trove! We enjoyed hunting around this great little museum & marine display. The owner was very friendly & helpful and told us a lot about our wonderful beaches. Worth a visit and you never know what you may find.
