It was interesting to see all the old equipment left behind by the early workers but it was difficult to find and almost overgrown by greenery. The map was not very clear for the location of each item either

The amazing history in this area is well preserved and waiting for you to find. With the beautiful walks a bonus. Take your time and enjoy learning about how things began. Very informative signage makes it a fun history lesson

To get to this area , you need to use the footbridge to get over the lake to the ocean beach. You can walk along the waters edge or walk through a lovely scrubby bush track, with areas like a fairy land. This is my preferred way to go. The Entrance is an Amazing feat, with the opening , allowing access from the Lake to the Ocean. There is many artefacts from a century past to see , in their deteriorating states of decay. Some of The workers houses, still remain. This is a must excursion, when visiting Lakes Entrance
