Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

The volunteers are incredibly friendly and provide outstanding service. They are so passionate about their home city, it's infectious! Great for that local insider knowledge, and the National Wool Museum gift shop is fab for souvenirs too.

Popped into the waterfront info centre upon arrival in Geelong, had a look at the carousel and got lots of tips from a lady who I think is a volunteer there. She asked about our preferences (an escape from Melbourne, travelling by public transport, looking for budget dining options), and then helped us plan our day in five minutes, gave us the maps and also suggested ideas for our future visits. She was very helpful and made us excited about the day rather than stressed about where to go and what to see. Thanks!

These ladies were so helpful when I told them I was visiting from Melbourne via train. The directions were so good that my normally directionally challenged brain was able to follow them. They had added suggestions for food and they were spot on with their timing of how long it would take by foot to explore.
Totally pleasant and easy to deal with.

The visitor centre at the BP station on the Princess Highway, was beyond amazing!
My friend and I were heading to Torqua to drive the Great Ocean Road, and although we'd looked at maps and had a GPS, we were kind of clueless!
Thank goodness we needed to use a bathroom! We spotted the info centre and went inside hoping to grab a clearer map than the one we had, but we got so much more than that!
I really wish I'd got the name of the guy that helped us - he was British (as are we) so it was really nice to her a familiar accent!
He gave us loads of maps, told us some invaluable information and guided us through the length of the GOR.
We saw a wild koala, some kangaroos on a golf course, fed some lorekeets, stopped at tons of vantage points with AMAZING views we just wouldn't have known about had it not been for this lovely man.
We thank him soooooo much for the information he gave us, and DEFINITELY recommend the Geelong & Great Ocean Road Visitor Information Centre to EVERYONE!!!
(there is a lovely little cafe/shop and a fresh fruit and veg shop also on site)

The staff from the tourist info was very helpfull and friendly. They made our plans better and gave us some good timelines. Because of them we decided to visit the Grampians after driving GOR and that was really worth the drive. Thanks guys!

We happened to stop at this rest area and saw the sculpture. The staff Russell offered to take a photo for us and helped us with directions and places of interests. Very clear instructions in where to go and what to see. Russell and Dora have been most helpful, gave us a great first impression of Geelong and GOR!

Thankyou for taking time to comment, Russell and Dora were pleased to see your comments, the sculptures, known as Bollards, depict the history of Geelong and the trail is a favourite for photographers!

Set in the carpark of a petrol station, this 'Information Centre' is a joke, Geelong is the largest rural town in Victoria but there are so many more better Info Centres in towns a tenth the size, whatever happened to internet, phone, fax, toilet facils - thought these were all required for a yellow 'i' centre. Perhaps Mr. Grant sets his own rules ? He has been in the job long enough to know what cuts it and what doesn't, why does he continually operate on the cheap ?
