This 1850's brick villa is the only such styled remaining home of that age. In addition to the gothic-revival house with its attractive verandas there are also several outbuildings and servant quarters. The gardens slope down to the river. Although giving an insight into Victorian times it does not have the beautiful gardens and personal aspects that were apparent at... More

Barwon Grange is very special to my family and I. Being sold to the national trust from my grandfather and being the first of my family to ever marry there it holds such a tender spot in our hearts. My grandfather was able to make out wedding, the last time he saw the house (first time restored) before passing. The... More

This house has been beautifully restored with items that would have been present in the building when the first owners occupied it. When the original owners left Geelong to return to the UK, most of their household goods were auctioned. Therefore, there are comprehensive lists of the contents of each room. These lists have been used by the National Trust... More

Really enjoyed visiting this historic property. Enjoyed the tour and the guide was very informative. Nice to see historic places kept alive with the stories of the past and the projects of the future. Recommended to all to visit.

I love BG-a bit out of Geelong and check the opening hours. Classic old house with beautiful grounds. Worth the entry fee

My friend recently held her wedding at Barwon Grange and it was such a lovely spot to have a wedding. The gardens are beautiful and the building itself is delightful. I did not go inside at all - I assume you can? But the outside itself is worth a visit. If considering for a wedding, it is well worth considering.

This house is presented as a time capsule, as if owner/builders, Jonathan and Anne Porter O'Brien were living in the home. It is 1856 and the inhabitants have just stepped out while you have a tour of their beautiful villa set alongside the Barwon River. Wonderful attraction and a credit to Geelong.

I thought that this historic home was pleasant enough, but after 45 minutes I'd had enough.
