Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Located just to the right of Cunningham Pier, the Carousel itself is in a rather fancy building. It can be seen from the outside as there is floor to ceiling glass windows. There is also a small tourist information booth at the entrance.

An old fashioned carousel 🎠 dating back to 1892, the last of its kind, right on the water. Beautifully restored and preserved in a lovely state of the art building with gorgeous views of the bay. Family friendly at only $5 per ride, kids thoroughly enjoyed the experience.

The Carousel in Geelong is a throwback to the heady days of boardwalks and piers. The way the attraction is housed and presented is nice, though, with the enclosure, it's a little separated from the rest of the oceanfront area. Still, it's a great way to beat the heat!

After birthday lunch at the waterfront three generations of family roamed down to the carousel which is always a favourite with the junior members.

Beautiful venue on the esplanade at Eastern beach. you pay to ride on The Carousel but the views are lovely. If you are lucky you might witness a wedding ceremony in the Carousel as this is a popular spot. fun spot for young and old alike.

The carousel in Geelong is a feast for the eyes. Little ones and big will enjoy the ride. It is fully enclosed in a glass building with lovely views of the bay.

Geelong has an antique merry go round circa 1892 that is housed in a purpose built building on the waterfront. The 36 horses are fully restored. It hosts wedding, birthday parties etc and is wheelchair friendly.

My wife and I were down at the Geelong waterfront, saw the carousel and thought, why not have a ride. The ride turned full circles about 8 times. Lovely view from the top but only a thing you would do once. Ideal for families with children. No discount for Pensioners or Concession card holders. $18 for the two of us, bit expensive for what you get.

Hi
what was this park called in the 1960/70s please? Are the dodgems still there? Jude

Hi Jude,
Thank you for your question! The park that was located on Eastern Beach next to the Yacht Club was called Highlight Park. Unfortunately this closed down many many years ago. We do however have a beautiful Ferris Wheel located in the same spot for over the Summer months, and The Carousel is located towards Cunningham Pier, and we are open all year round!
Kind Regards - The Carousel
