Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

While visiting the Geelong area we were invited to accompany two of our grandchildren, aged four and two years to a session at MoPA. Fortunately their father accompanied us because as octagenarians we had little hope of following the children during the very many activities at this location.

It would seem from the gathering at the two-hour session we attended that children's ages varied from toddlers to older youngsters. Many of the activitHes were organized including painting a car or dancing to songs sung by Mopa staff. However there were just so many opportunities for individuals plan their own activities. There were multiple levels involving stairs making it difficult for older people to follow all of the entertainment.

We found generous seating throughout the complex enabling us to rest while watching some of the more of the children's active adventures. There is a coffee and cake bar within the complex and we took advantage of this area. We really enjoyed the two hours spent watching how much our grandchildren enjoyed the outing.

There was so much to do here and we could have stayed a lot longer if car parking wasn't running out!
It is all geared to children having a go at music, science, acting, painting a real car!
The staff were good at relating to the children.
There was great attention paid to keeping the place clean and tidy.

The mother of our grandchildren, who is resident near Geelong, suggested a visit to MoPA with the children before we left to return home. Unfortunately we had to wait for an available day and time because bookings were heavy. Eventually we achieved a 11 am to 1 pm slot.

Our impression on arriving was very positive particularly with relation to the architecture of play areas for the children. Among the things to do was the opportunity to paint to an old car. One of our 3 year old grandsons was enjoying himself so much it was rather difficult to keep up with him. Even his eleven month old brother scuttled all over the place satisfying his curiosity. We had very nice coffees and bought some lolly pops for the boys. There are reasonable admission charges to this site

Great place for young kids to enjoy.
We had a 2 hour booking and the kids had enough things to keep them interested the entire time.
They should enjoy trying to understand how things work

My daughter, 9 y.o. grand-daughter and I visited the Museum of Play and Art [MoPA] in Geelong on 31/11/21.

The many and varied activities are wonderful, very thought-provoking for children and the young staff are cheerful, encouraging and very involved.

Most of the activities were on the ground floor, with a few, relatively small ones on the first floor.

There did not appear to be a lift, so if you plan to visit with children who are unable to negotiate stairs, please check with management first. I formed the opinion that there was plenty on the ground floor to keep all children fully occupied.

For adults, there is a small but well-stocked café with good coffee.

Top marks to MoPA owners and staff.

There are numerous fun activities and learning tasks for the children. Our grandchildren (aged 9, 7 and 3) were totally engaged for the whole two hours that we were there. The staff are to be highly commended for their enthusiasm with their interactions with the children. Asked after the visit what her favourite activity was, little miss 7 replied, “Everything” and her brothers agreed. We are very popular grandparents now!

What a wonderful place! We visited MOPA for the second time yesterday (our first visit being pre-covid) and our boys had an absolute blast. The activities seem to have endless possibilities for imaginative play. The dance party is so much fun and the staff are wonderfully energetic and engaging. We were really impressed by how often the staff were cleaning everything as well - definitely made us feel confident in attending during covid times. Thanks MOPA team! We'll be back soon :-)

I recently visited MoPA with 3 children that I work with. Their ages are 4, 7 & 9. All 3 thoroughly enjoyed the experience. There were interactive things that kept all of the intrigued. From being a rockstar upstairs, to the gallery that displayed them in framed pictures. The computers that they could edit pics of themselves was a winner with all 3. The scarf wall was intriguing and encouraged play with others. A dance party was enjoyed by all. The areas to build things was a winner too!
Kudos to the team. This is an amazing transformation of the old Wintergarden and a welcome addition to things for kids in the Geelong area.
