Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Although part of the Port of Echuca Discovery Centre the wharf itself is of historical significance and worthy of specific attention. It was constructed in 1862 at the time the railway line linked Echuca with Melbourne and at that time the port was the second largest in Victoria. It is on the Victorian and National Heritage Registers.

My wife and I visited this place after visiting the Discovery Centre, which is next to this place.

During its heyday a long time ago, this Wharf was very important for shipping as transportation. It is now one of the main tourist attractions in Echuca.

Fantastic area. Discovery Centre well captures the history.
Dirt road township feels like Sovereign Hill, Murray style.
Wharf itself is huge and in a lovely big river corner.
Paddle steamers depart for cruises. Beautiful landscape.

Step back in time and discover Echuca Wharf. I downloaded a heritage walk and walked through the wharf area. There are many historic buildings to see as well as the wharf itself. Read the information boards and plaques to gain a better understanding of the buildings and exhibits.

A fascinating relic of the river trade which was for so long the lifeblood of Echuca, this wharf is an engineering feat executed in timber, with interesting displays and a number of paddle steamers moored alongside. We entered through the Discovery Centre, also with interesting exhibits and stories from the past.

A traffic free heritage area. Interesting info boards give the history of the area. There are cafes and restaurants, a kids playground, good quality souvenirs and paddle steamer cruises all within easy walking distance.

Go for a walk at the Esplanade for some nice souvenir.
Enjoyed looking at what the shops have in it. Take some beautiful photo.
This is also the place to collect your wharf to winery tour cruise ticket.

We have been to Echuca a few times over the years and we always love a visit along the wharf and Port of Echuca. Take some beautiful snaps of the Murray River and paddle steamers and enjoy the serenity.
