Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Serene place to visit. Beautiful architecture. Pipe organ music can soothe your ears. Please check the opening days before you go.

A very impressive and imposing structure which was built over many years. Rather austere inside but many would celebrate its plainness. Open to the public during the day and well worth a look

What a beautiful creation. The largest neo-gothic cathedral in the Southern Hemisphere, and the third largest cathedral in Australia.

Upon entering Bendigo the cathedral is magnificent, sitting on the hill there. The Deborah Gold Mine is a must see. How hard our ancestors worked for a living. The wide streets and many trees make it a generally lovely place. The Poppet Head lookout is also worth the climb up the stairs. The view is wonderful.

Only could view this from the outside but it was very impressive. it was built around 1895 in the Gothic Revival style.

It's the first thing I saw driving into town from Melbourne and it definitely makes an impression.
This amazing building seems overly large for the lovely, but relatively small town of Bendigo. However, it shows how important this town was back in the day.
Had some difficulty getting in due to flooding keeping staff away, but I persevered and the interior was worth the effort.

As others have said, it's a church, it should always be open. It is not as though the Catholics don't have any money to staff the place. It is beautiful from the outside, but we have no idea about the inside.
And closed on a Saturday. It's a weekend with tourists everywhere. God only knows why this is closed.

Such a beautiful building. This cathedral is the third largest in Australia after St. Mary's in Sydney and St. Paul's in Melbourne. We have visited many cathedrals churches all over the world and this one is certainly up there with the best. We didn't think the church was open so we were walking around the outside before we saw a side door that we could walk through, More than worth the stop.

The only thing that disappointed me was the fact it is not open for public on a Monday and Tuesday. We went wrong day. Beautiful interesting gardens tho.
