Four of us joined Peter Hanlon for a cultural and historical 2 hour walk last Sunday as something to do in the afternoon. I live in Bendigo but had 3 visitors from Melbourne. We were very impressed with Pete's knowledge of the history and cultural background of Bendigo. Even though I have lived here for 30 years I learned a lot. Pete was happy to answer any questions we had and supplied us with a display book with various photos to compliment his knowledge. The walk was quite short and I think most folk would find it easy. We booked it through Bendigo Tourism. $25 senior price. Well worth it. Thanks Peter

Having just moved to Bendigo I wanted to know more about the town I was relocating to. I really enjoyed my experience with Bendigo Walking Tours. Jill was quite a storyteller, sharing some really fascinating historical facts and stories about the history of Bendigo and more. Thanks for sharing your time and extensive knowledge Jill! I can highly recommend the 2-hour tour and will be telling everyone that visits me to book in.

We visited Bendigo to stay with friends, who took it upon themselves to book us in for a walking tour. Our tour guide Jill was fabulous, interesting, informative & knew her history very well. I found myself totally captivated with her stories & knowledge of Bendigo & there wasn’t a question that she couldn’t answer. Her tour was supplemented with literature & pictures taken in the mid 1800’s, one piece of literature was supplied to us as a keepsake of the places we visited. I would highly recommend that you do this tour, even if you have moderate knowledge of this beautiful city. Well done Jill. Can totally see why you have a high rating on TripAdvisor.

A must do! Thank you Jill for a wonderfully entertaining, informative and fun tour. I recommend this tour particularly before seeing the rest of Bendigo. Bendigo looked and felt different the next day because jill had imparted so much of the social history that everything else I experienced on my 3 day visit was put into context of an amazing dramatic and visionary past. Don't be deterred by 2 hours duration - the time flew by and Jill takes it easy with opportunities to sit down while she imparts her extensive knowledge with insight and gentle humour.

Our walking tour was fabulous. We found Jill to be engaging and informative and the commentary interesting and not run of the mill. We found the tour conversational as opposed to the usual facts and figures. A thoroughly enjoyable morning.... thank you Jill.

We were pleased to meet Jill for our tour this morning. There were just the two.of us. We always enjoy tours when we visit new places. It is a perfect way to give context to the city and to find out about the history and culture. Jill was a great guide telling us lots of stories about life in Bendigo from.the time of the first people's through to the 2nd world war. Bendigo has a fascinating history and we highly recommend taking a walking tour as part of your visit to Bendigo.

If you’re interested in learning some history of Bendigo and Australia whilst getting some exercise in the outdoors this is definitely worth doing on a trip to Bendigo. Wear a hat on a sunny day though and take some water.

My wife and I did a walking tour with Peter in Feb. 2021. We have only just returned home after a 12 month road trip. Even though 12 months has passed by I am fulfilling a promise that I would right a review. The tour was so good that I can't capture the depth and breath of the experience in words. I won't try. My advise is simple: 'don't miss any opportunity to do a tour with Bendigo Walking Tours'.
