We only visited a tiny spot along Lake Wendouree. This place has an incredible claiming ambiance, we could have sat there for hours watching the bird life. We were lucky enough to see many baby cygnets following their mum ( or dad!).

I wanted to see dawn break over the lake, (photographers are weird) so, with a couple of friends, we arrived and watched the bird-life, mostly water fowl, (I was told they were water fowl).

The Lake is a mixture of events, history, walkers, runners, riders and with a 6k walk around it is a wonderful place to spend lots of time.
Excellent eating places, watch the rowing or just sit and take in the wild life and beauty.

Contact Ballarat Tourist Information at the Town Hall (03) 5337 4337 they will be able to answer this and more info about what else you can do whilst you are in Ballarat - I found them very helpful when I was there in May.
