Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

DO NOT go with Eerie the guy that runs this company is so UNPROFESSIONAL. He loves trolling online and is a COVID denier.

If you think you’ve done an extremely creepy paranormal investigation before but have never been to Aradale insane Asylum, think again!
We have done many investigations at other venues, but none have had the eerie feel of Aradale. The place is absolutely massive and very easy to get lost in. The asylum may have only closed in 1993, but with the decay and rot occurring, it seems much longer.
Our guide was Daniel and I cannot praise him enough. So down to earth and passionate about exploring the paranormal.
Our time in Aradale was absolutely amazing and we will definitely be back. Unfortunately, as we live in Adelaide, not as much as we would like.

My partner & I were in Ballarat for 2 nights & chose to spend our 1st night on the 90 minute ghost tour. Our guide was lovely, full of knowledge of the town & she had a great flare. We thoroughly enjoyed walking through the streets & learning some history about the town & some spooky paranormal stories to go with it. Even if you don’t believe in the paranormal, the stories were entertaining & the history was definitely interesting. We both recommend the tour & would do again.

Our Ballarat Ghost tour with Dan from Eerie Tours was an unforgettable experience. Dan was an exceptional tour guide, offering a wealth of knowledge about Ballarat and its rich history. He seamlessly weaved in spine-tingling ghost facts, adding an eerie layer to our exploration. During the gripping 2-hour walk through Ballarat's streets, we were granted access to the grand foyer of 'Craig's Royal Hotel,' which added a touch of elegance to our eerie adventure.

In the shadowy alleyway of an old building, we captured an orb on camera—a spectral presence that seems to have a connection with Dan, possibly the spirit of a tragic soul who met a heartbreaking fate at the building's summit. Dan even surprised us by showing a video of the same orb following him down the alleyway on another tour, leaving us both informed and haunted by the tales of Ballarat's past.
If you haven’t been on the Ballarat Ghost tour we would highly recommend it to anyone chasing the paranormal or for anyone that has a love of history or even dark history here in Australia.

Sent my 3 kids there Saturday night on the 4-hour tour with Sage who was an absolute delight and most informative with a wealth of history knowledge. For a first time experience all three girls learnt quite a bit of historical information and all had an amazing experience. All 3 girls had experienced different smells, seen different things & also felt different people touch their shoulders when no one would be there. 2 of the girls had walked upstairs in the dark the youngest one had felt that she had been pulled while still linking arms with the other while finding another door the older one had walked though something, and they both went back to the group. Overall they all had the best experience they could ask for. They have also stated all 3 would go back again.

We took the 2 hour ghost tour at Aradale Lunatic Asylum on Saturday night.
I was really looking forward to the experience and whilst our host was very enthusiastic, the Halloween makeup, screaming and jump scares really prevented you from feeling the actual vibe of the place. The plastic animal skeletons in the entrance were just tacky.
The gaggle of teenagers were screeching and giggling at the staged theatrics and it made it very hard to experience the history and feel of the place. A lot of weird focus on the patients who were in for sexual deviance, just feel like there was more we could have seen and learned.
A beautiful and sorrowful place with a brutal history but it felt like so much was missed and you could not soak up the genuine atmosphere because of all the amateur theatrics.

From the moment we arrived on the tour, we found the workers extremely rude. while we were waiting for our tour to begin, we explored the small building we were waiting in, opened a door and was met with a slammed door to the face and a look that could kill lol
I'd recommend not touching anything, opening doors or shining torches into the building windows, or you may get in to trouble. Make sure to pay attention to your guide only and don't look around.
Some info was good but so many buildings we walked past that wasn't even touched on. The tour was so boring, full of stupid rules and the customer service was gross.
Make sure to stand in one spot untill you're allowed to move, and don't have fun!
This tour could have been so good but was ruined by the people working there for sure.

My teenaged daughter picked this as a family outing. I’m so glad she did. It was interesting and entertaining! Our tour guide did a great job of giving us enough creepy moments while keeping it fun.

A fun, interesting, informative night. Very eerie - definitely wouldn’t like to be left alone there. Very interested to do the longer tour.
