A great set of guides for river fishing with very sound knowledge of the rivers fished on, also great photography of your day on the river if required. The store itself has a strong local specific supply of equipment.

Terrific Guide company - just brilliant. Have done individual days and multi day guiding with Daniel, Simone and their team. Sensational to be out with Sim with the girls and being out with Dan and Greg on a multiple day trip with a close mate was mind blowing.

Dan and Simone Hackett are the ONLY people I would ever send a fly fishing aficionado to chat with. They're personable, knowledgeable and what they offer will appeal to rank amateurs (like myself who they helped with a casting tutorial) to intrepid adventurers wanting to see the real Tasmania from the water's edge.

Run by renowned fly fishing guide Daniel Hackett, Flyshop 1864 stocks all that you will require for a fly-fishing adventure in the pristine waters of Tasmania. And, if you feel you need some assistance, schedule permitting, Daniel will personally guide you through some of the best fishing rivers and lakes Tasmania has to offer. We only had Daniel for 1 day but the knowledge he imparted and the skills he shared were invaluable. If you have a passion for fly-fishing you need to drop in to the shop and if you are keen to discover some beautiful fishing spots, then grab Daniel for the day!
