Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.

Andy was excellent, the weather was not the best but he still managed to give us a great experience. Took the time to teach 2 beginners and gave us every opportunity to get on a fish.

Me and my partner had a wonderful day fishing with Peter from Riverfly1864. My partner caught her first fish ever followed by many more throughout the day. I would highly recommend Riverfly1864 as they are professional and incredibly knowledgeable.

I had an awesome day out with Peter from Riverfly1864. We went to some great locations and I learned so much from him. Peter really helped me improve my casting and trout fishing in general while taking me to some awesome spots and putting me onto some great fish!

I really enjoyed my day out and would recommend the Riverfly1864 guiding to anyone considering trout fishing in Launceston.

My brother and I used Daniel and then Peter for 3 days of fishing around Launceston. Both guides very knowledgeable about the area, friendly and easy to chat with. Brought us to beautiful rivers and put us onto a number of fish. Provided morning tea (muffin/fruit), basic lunch (sandwich and water) and some coffee.

Would definitely consider using again on next trip.

We were picked up by Peter at 8.45am and off we headed with no idea where we would fish. We've always gone to NZ to fish but I had a spare day in Launceston so decided to give it a try. What a day!! We lost count about how many we caught. The highlight for me was watching my wife finally becoming really confident catching and landing fish. This was all down to Peter's guidance. Such a calming influence and only mildly annoyed when we dropped a fish.Beautiful country, a lovely little stream and full of fish. Can't thank RiverFly enough and especially Peter. We will be back but for more than a day next time.

Great day flyfishing with Peter Broomhall in the Mersey system.Peter assessed my ability very quickly and tailored the trip to be both challenging and fun.The location was breathtakingly beautiful and the style of fishing in tight streams on the dryfly very appealing.I would recommend this style of fishing to anyone you are in good hands with Peter.

Daniel Hackett and the team at Riverfly1864 are hands down the best flyfishing guides I have experienced. Whether staying at their Wilderness Huts and hunting big, wild trout in the Western Lakes of Tasmania's Central Highlands or roaming the rivers around Launceston, they bring knowledge, access and fun to a days' fishing. I'm a repeat customer and i am still impressed with their ability to spot fish and then, as an added bonus, take great photos as you hook in to them. I'm happy fishing by myself and with my mates but fishing with Riverfly1864 takes it to another level so at least once a season I treat myself. It's worth it.

This was another tick off my bucket list - Fly fishing in Tassie. My bestie was happy to give it a crack also, so both of us first timers set off with the help of the friendly people at RiverFly 1864.
Great team -Simone was our first contact by phone - gathering intel to ensure we got what we wanted from our day. Pete, our guide, was full of local knowledge and an experienced fly fisherman. Good conversation, patience of a saint, guided us to success again and again.
If you are into fishing this is a must try experience.

My girlfriend and I had a great day on the water with Riverfly guide Pete - friendly, knowledgeable, and got us into a dozen or so good sized fish! Sadly we were only skilled enough to land around half of those, but the six or so we netted were all great browns and rainbows in exceptional condition.

I'm a relatively experienced fly fisherman, but my girlfriend had barely cast a rod before we arrived on the water. Pete was fantastic in accomodating both of our skill levels - Clara even managed to land the biggest fish of the day, a lovely 3 pound brown.

Tasmanian waters are really some of the best in the world and it's well worth it to have an expert at your side for at least some of your trip. I couldn't recommend Riverfly enough, and I'm sure I'll be back.

Thanks guys!
Tim.
