If you are looking for a gift or souvenir that is Tasmanian and of high quality then this is the place. Prices are more reasonable than similar shops in Hobart. Includes furniture, homewares and some clothing - lots of timber as would be expected.

Well worth a visit. There have not been many places on our two weeks around Tassie that have showcased a variety of Tassie wares. High quality, some items are pricey.

Of all the places we have seen in Tasmania the Design Centre in Launceston has the most original timber, jewellery and dress designs and craftsmanship. It is a not-to-be-missed destination.

Fairly cheap entrance fee for this small exhibition space. Some really great, contemporary pieces. Worth a short visit.

The exhibit area is quite small and only takes about 10 minutes to view. It does have some very interesting design items in a variety of art media. The items in the store are also very nice though a bit pricey.
