My wife headed into Myer, I had a look at the shops and explored elsewhere. Back again a couple of days later, wife into Myer, I sat for about ten minutes and listened to an amateur clarinet player, took a photo of the 'Thylacines' and 'Its About Us" sculptures and headed off to get a coffee. Minimal foot traffic and customers in shops, no vibe, just sterile

Typical city pedestrian only mall. Nothing exciting here.

The Brisbane Street Mall stretches between Charles and St John Streets and is flanked on both sides by a variety of retail shops.

Couple of statues, one of Tasmanian Tigers, at either end and some seats for bored non-shoppers.

Not a must see.

Not so elusive Tasmanian Tiger

Scattered throughout the mall were these lovely sculptures, some which appear quite playful. There is also plenty of seating and shops to browse.

A Typical Mall With Tasmanian Tiger Sculptures

It seems that all mall's in mid-sized Australian cities are designed alike and the Brisbane Street Mall is tyical with some of the usual shops and some that are local which all added up to a fairly average experience. The only exception for this Mall was a series of interesting bronzes of Tasmanian Tiger's which added a little, but not a lot of interest and at first glance I assumed they were Tasmanian Devil's as they were black but a closer look showed there were some stripes and I should have known better as they are not alike at all as Devils's are nasty agressive unpleasant marsupilas and the poor old tiger long since extinct since 1930 believe to be shy and elusive.
