Mount Gambier Visitor Information Centre provides a warm welcome and a wide range of brochures, with qualified staff ready to assist you to get the best out of your visit to Mount Gambier. Get a taste of the region as you explore the Discovery Centre located within the centre. Public toilets, ample parking, large vehicle parking, bus departure bay, disabled access, after hours information at the front door. Open daily, Monday to Friday 9:00am to 5:00pm and Saturday and Sunday and Public Holidays from 10:00am to 4:00pm.

No matter what you intend to do in the region a visit to this centre will set you up with all the inside information you will need. Helpful and knowledgeable staff who expertly answered all our questions. Lots of information available as well as locally produced goods, try the Blue Lake Lemonade!

This Town is must for stopping and visiting, we've been through before but not up to the top where the Lakes are. I know that others have contributed photos of this Blue Lake, but it's not until you actually have been up to see it for yourself that you realise how blue and awesome this Ex-Volcano is. It's wonderful what nature does. It's a must see, and the view from up there is awe inspiring

The staff at the visitor centre couldn’t be faulted. They were generous with their time, suggestions and advice. They listened to us and gave us all the information we needed and crucially, none we didn’t need. They circled the main areas of interest on the local and regional map and gave a little information on each so when we left, we had a good idea of how long we’d expect to be in town to do what we wanted. A perfect first stop for info gathering and local maps on arrival.

We were helped by Diana who suggested all the interesting things in the area to visit.
A great map was supplied and she was very knowledgeable about the area. This is a great visitor centre with big photos behind the counter of all the main sites and attractions.
Lots of brochures to take away if required.
Diana suggested a day drip down to Port MacDonnell which was such a great idea.
She recommended a lovely cafe to eat at and a few little side trips.
So glad we popped in to visit the visitor centre.
Also recommended to us was the free 1 hour film at the art gallery in the centre of town that plays at 11am and 2pm. That is an absolute must, and so informative about the geographic creation of the area. We loved that.

The staff at the visitor center were very helpful , the came across with a passion and love of their area. A great experience that sets you in the mood to see more of the area. The planned a trip for us and just allowed time to see what sites were available. Made you feel very welcome not rushed

When travelling with pets it’s great to be provided a sheet that tells you all the attractions that you can visit and local rules etc.
The “pet guide” provided here was the best we’ve seen in all our travels.

We found out a heap of things to do and see through our visit. The team member who helped us was amazingly friendly and pleasant. The ship out the front is also well worth a look. Make this your first stop in Mount Gambier!

We have rarely been disappointed stopping at visitor centres in Victoria and this one was no exception. A very knowledgeable lady filled us up with info and brochures and offered suggestions for people of our vintage to go and see and enjoy. The museum was very informative. There is plenty of parking and the toilets were spotless. One suggestion, when you drive out the exit, take it easy as the slope to the street has quite a bump at the end. If your car is low, be careful.

We asked the questions and got all the answer from a friendly lady there. Which made our trip more special . We also visited the activity centre there which was brilliant. Great for adults as well as children. This is one of the best information centres I’ve ever visited. Thank you

This should be your first place to go to when you arrive, Not only will you learn about the history of the area at the Discovery Centre but there also a replica of the Lady Nelson ship used to discover the South East of SA. The staff are friendly and will help you out with whats where and when and whats on and assist you with maps, brochures and directions for everything in the Limestone Coast.
