About Temptation Sailing
Temptation is a 58 foot sailing catamaran which has been doing wild dolphin swims daily since 2001, in this time we have never been out on a dolphin cruise and not seen dolphins. In fact we will give you all your money back if dolphins are not seen on this cruise. Dolphins always come over to Temptation and you can stand or lay above them on our front nets. If you wish to swim, no worries (but book early to avoid disappointment) this is a totally wild experience, no feeding, no touching just viewing from within the water. Because these are wild dolphins we have strict rules to abide by (both for the safety of the swimmers and the dolphins) and sometimes it can be rushed to get the swimmers in the water and sometimes the crew do need to yell so that the swimmers know which way to look under water. If you book in for a swim and on the day change your mind, no problems we can refund the difference (direct bookings only), especially for young children who decide they don't want to swim, that way they don't need to feel forced to go into the water. Remember you will always see more dolphins from on board, but seeing wild dolphins underwater is just amazing.

If I were just rating the cruise alone It would have been a 5 well worth the price, nice and relaxing with very friendly knowledgeable crew members. The rating I have given is due to the disappointment of the dolphin swim. At $120 per person you would expect to experience a little more than one 60 second swim with one single dolphin especially when both other groups of swimmers on the same cruise got 2/3 swims with multiple dolphins then be told we have run out of time to do any more swims, my 10 yr old daughter was quite upset which made me more disappointed. Thanks for the cruise we did really enjoy that but the swim was definitely not worth it for the experience we received.

Hi David, Thank you for taking the time to send us feedback, we do appreciate it. Unfortunately, we can not control the interaction time with the Dolphins as they are a wild animal. As we had 3 swim groups on this tour, we have to make sure that our rotation is fair across those who have booked on as swimmers. This can sometimes result in more dolphins on some peoples swim and less on others. We have recently changed our swim maximum passenger number to 24 (Instead of 30) to make sure that the swim time is rotated seamlessly and to give people more of an opportunity to see dolphins while they’re in the water. With this in mind, hopefully we will see you and your daughter back onboard again soon. Every day is different as the dolphins move around and vary in group size, however, we get our common dolphins coming in around November which are usually found in large pod sizes. Kind regards Temptation Sailing Team

Would have been a great Cruise if it had followed Covid rules . We are 70+ and had to sit with strangers who sat 1/2 an inch next to us . There were way to many people on the boat.

Please note Temptation only holds up to 50 passengers - we have always followed any South Australian COVID restrictions as advised to us. There is plenty of room around the boat for 50 passengers with room in between groups for restrictions.

It was an amazing experience to see the dolphins in their natural habitat. It was a sunny day with low winds and we got to see many dolphins during the cruise. During the swim some dolphins got very close to us and they swam underneath us. I would recommend this to everyone going to Adelaide. Just make sure that you go on a good sunny day.
