Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Unfortunately some of this information is incorrect. The address is 59 Brisbane St, Drayton, Toowoomba. It is now open the 1st and the 3rd Sunday of each month, except for January, from 10am to 2pm. A coach tour includes a visit to the Inn every 1st and 3rd Thursday of the month. Contact Downs Steam for booking. The building you see was constructed in 1859 and is believed to be the oldest building still standing in Toowoomba.

Only open on the first Sunday of each month this National Trust owned property is quite fascinating. Following its demise as a boarding house with a rather chequered past, it was left to fall into disrepair until obtained by the Trust who have already undertaken an extensive restoration programme to bring the old place back to relive its former glories. There is a significant history behind this building and it is worth taking a little time to read some of the information located around the building and will assist the visitor in immersing themselves into this important piece of history. The property contains many trappings of a bygone age and displays many room setting as they would have been long ago.
Some say the place is haunted, but the only spirits evident on the day we visited were those available for purchase across the road!!!

Looks like an interesting place, would have loved to check it out inside. Shame it's not open more than the once a month.

This stunning, old building is filled with history! The volunteers have restored this beautiful piece of Toowoomba's past to its former glory and they enthusiastically recall the history of the first occupants of this Inn, Post Office, house....

I grew up in Toowoomba and this old lady needs a lot of attention but the volunteers do a excellent job. Come at night when it is open and visit the ghosts when the ghosts tours are on.

Great to view from the outside, but very limited opportunities to get inside.
It would be wonderful to have this open for everyone who swings by, but most likely run by volunteers limiting the access through normal business days.
Certainly worth the effort.

This is a marvelous piece of real history left so that we may experience who people lived in the early and mid 1800's.
