Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Get yourself up here and take in the magnificent views from the top of Toowoomba.
The Visitor information centre has a map of a driving tour of Toowoomba and this is an early stop on that map. Take the opportunity.
Lovely parklands and there a restaurant too if you need it. But it's the views that are great.
I remember in Mt Coo-Tha in Brissie that there are plaques pointing to the main sights. This could do with that. Some.are obvious, such a Table Top Mtn and Mt Lofty (gee, the 'settlers' were very original in their naming) but other peaks and sights could be better signposted.
If you walk to the left, slightly down from the lookout platform there is a poster talking about Aboriginal usage of the area. I was very interested in that and again, it referenced various places that weren't signposted, so you could only guess. Table Top is clearly a very important site from what I was reading by the way.
Lovely spot. Get yourself up here!

Nice park with some great walking tracks and a lovely small waterfall that is shaded with trees. Signage for the walks needs to be improved though as its difficult to know if you are on the correct track when you set off. Two great look out points and a lovely place just outside of Toowoomba

Good view, excellent seniors (smaller) portions of main menu selection but service terrible, Staff veryyyy busy but not customer focused. Table next to me had not had order collected, had obviously been waiting awhile. I had to signal for staff twice (table service area), staff collected dishes from my table and other table next to me without saying anything to customers.

Went on the recommendation of the tourist information centre as it provides a great lookout in nice parklands and an excellent cafe. The cafe was the ideal spot to sit in the sunshine, plan our garden visits and enjoy the district views. Coffee was very good and the scones with rhubarb jam were excellent. Service was friendly efficient and quick It’s a shame we didn’t have time to return for lunch.

What a gorgeous spot atop a hill just outside of town. Great views and plenty of parking. The kids playground is AWESOME. Lots of space to spread out and picnic, play or just enjoy the views.

Picnic point has excellent views over a large areas of toowoomba, there is a great restaurant which serves a variety of hot and cold snacks as well as good value meals, they offer gluten free item cakes and buns and to be honest if they didn't tell you they were gluten free you would not know. There is a large picnic area where you can barbecue or just eat your own food outside. It is at the top of a hill but there is loads of parking if you go in your car, I have been here several times and would recommend this as a place to visit.

A fabulous outlook towards the east is attained from this edge of The Great Dividing Range escarpment. The parkland is full of shady trees and a smattering of pretty flower beds. There is plenty of parking and a restaurant on site.

A well-groomed and well-designed area allowing good access for pedestrians and cyclists as well as cars. Obviously extensive views. A pleasant place for a stroll on a sunny day.

Does the local council allow dogs on leash at picnic point?

Yes they do
Can you I bring a charcoal grill to use in the park instead of the gas bbq’s supplied??

No you can’t bring a charcoal bbq. The Toowoomba Regional Council has the barbecues set up so they are in the one area, under shade. This could be a safety issue as it is sometimes windy up there. Just bring yourselves, some food for the Barbie, and enjoy the natural beauty.

We are coming into Toowoomba tonight and would like to know if there is lighting in the park area of Picnic Point, so we can bring a bbq or picnic dinner?
