We went to see the QPS Pipes Band play and it was truly wonderful. The family and I then made a day of it and went through the Fossil Centre to fossick for Dinosaurs and checked out the museum and gardens.

Check out the fossil centre. My four year old loved it and is still talking about digging up dinosaur bones in the sand pit months later. This is also a good place to spend the day if it's too hot or wet for outdoor activities.More

Nice drinks and freshly made treats in the cafe. Friendly & efficient service. Plenty of parking. Lovely to browse in the shop for tourist gifts and locally made gifts

Outback at Isa is totally worth a visit. It covers Tourist Information, an excellent museum showing you the history of Mt Isa and a great little coffee shop. Also has a fish hatchery and botanic garden out the back which is really worth a visit
