About
The Mackay Entertainment and Convention Centre (MECC) is the largest convention and banqueting facility between Cairns and Brisbane in Queensland, Australia. This state-of-the-art $29m facility includes multiple versatile spaces including a 1090 seat auditorium and two plenary halls which, when fully extended, seat over 1450 guests theatre style or 800 guests banquet style. There are four meeting rooms. a 100 seat experimental theatre, two foyers, a selection of break out rooms, a dedicated event planner office and a registration desk. The centre is also the region's premier entertainment venue,hosting the region's largest concerts, cabaret and theatre performances. There are more than six 4-star quality hotels located within easy walking distance of the MECC and is approximately 10 minutes via taxi from Mackay Airport.

the worst entertainment centre I've ever been in. for the school play was rudely told to not go back stage when I was a performer

Took the grand children to the performance of Wizard of Oz - which was a local production. Congratulations to all involved the MECC is a fantastic venue even in the back row with young children they had great views of the stage. The acoustics are brilliant and they could hear perfectly - such a polished professional performance was an absolute delight and I cannot wait to take them to another production thanks to all cast and crew

Our company has now attended two large conferences held at the MECC. The location is excellent, staffing and facilities are great. Access to bring large equipment for display was very well managed. Multiple presentation rooms allowed free flowing seminars to be held

Went and saw Cirque Africa for my birthday. Great venue, lovely staff, only downfall was that their was really no food available to purchase and parking is limited.

The MECC venue and staff have been brilliant!
My team and I have been deployed for disaster recently very and have been able to rely on the MECC staff to set up areas, equipment and extras to provide above and beyond service!! Support the MECC!!

What a great way to spend a Sunday morning !!! The Jazz Brunch as the final event of the Arts Festival was fantastic. Fabulous entertainment !!! great Brunch, pleanty of food & a great variety !! The setting was very relaxing !!

Went and seen Carl Barron, as well as an expo. I think it is good set up, they hold some great shows as well. Parking can be a bit of an issue.

Excellent concert in great venue. Three tenors concert was wonderful for everyone, including our grandsons aged 8 & 6. Mackay has great venues. More excellent shows coming up!

i go here every year for a convention in July and i love it the staff are very friendly and nice its big very pretty and all around inviting will be coming back in Feb and July next year
