Staying at an apartment that overlooks Kirra Beach. Nice walkway along the beach and plenty of activity to watch including Sky divers. Beach is clean and has been remarkably calm all week. The views from Kirra Beach back towards and including Surfers Paradise are excellent...More
When I much younger Kirra Beach drew my attention while on the South Coast (now the Gold Coast) because of the similarly aged football heroes who were also bronzed handsome life savers. With the advancing of years I am still drawn to Kirra... but this...More
Kirra Beach has something for everyone. Great surfing beaches, beautiful parklands and walkways and cycling tracks. Rides for the children, exercise equipment for those interested, free beachfront movies on Friday nights, great little eateries, bakery, even an excellent gelato facility. Just a wonderous place to...More
Kirra beach is stunning. The large sweep of the bay delivers beautiful white sand and aqua blue, clear water. Great watching the surfers and the world go by. Plenty of places to grab a drink or bite to eat and a good walking / cycling...More
We stayed in Surfers Paradise for the past few days before driving to Kirra Beach. Conclusion is that we all prefer Kirra Beach. We find Kirra Beach is well equipped with necessities for picnics. Somehow, the "feel" is different, more family oriented. The sea is...More

Also, just to throw it in there, I find Broadbeach to be a nice in between spot also. It's not as full-on and crowded like Surfers but it's at the end of the tram line so it has all the transport links to go anywhere you want (ie. up to Surfers for the day/half day) and not have to worry about parking :)
If you are not heading to Kirra anytime soon, try and find the surf cam for the area or google street view on your search engine. This might give you an idea of what's on offer in the area. From memory, the Kirra lookout... More
If you are not heading to Kirra anytime soon, try and find the surf cam for the area or google street view on your search engine. This might give you an idea of what's on offer in the area. From memory, the Kirra lookout near the road was huge and would suit a large number of wedding guests. The area is clean and the lookout would be ideal and an easy meeting point for your guests.
