Seemed like the spot to catch fish, build sand castles. Take what you need because the walk to get to the water is a bit of a hike in the soft sand.

Good place to stop and enjoy a swim, patrolled swim areas, and nice area and straight sandy beach to wander, was enjoyable some parking issues though

Very nice park to stay with your pets. Pet section is away from the main park but very very good with access to a large open area where you can walk your dogs and only a short walking distance to the beach where you can...More

I spent several hours just lounging on the beach, and it was beautiful. Very clean and not too crowded (at least when I went).

It’s stunning, it’s protected geographically from the winds, it gets surf, it has life guards, it has all the beauty/ beef cakes a person could want. The board walk that connects the beaches allows you stunning views along the coast. Not as commercial as other...More

I am a local, but of all the beaches around this area, my choice is Kirra Beach. There is easy access to the water, it is patrolled in peak season, not too much sand to walk over to get to water ( and when you...More

Kirra is a beautiful Beach. It is protected from the wind and the water is clear and excellent for swimming. It is close to Kirra surf club for lunch.

Take a ride along the beach path from the state border to Kirra and beyond. Picnic in the Queensland heritage beach lookout and view Surfers Paradise clearly. Enjoy lovely white sand between your toes and a splash in little ripples off the break.

Spent a night here, and visited beach after dinner to hear the cicadas, and then visited again and walked the beach the following day. Very pleasant. You could spend a little or a lot of time enjoying the beach. Great for those walking their dogs.

This beach is lovely beautiful wide white beach with sand dunes and lovely backdrop of headlands and city. But it is spoilt by inflow pipe from possible toxic contamination from the creek that runs through airport out to ocean.

If you are not heading to Kirra anytime soon, try and find the surf cam for the area or google street view on your search engine. This might give you an idea of what's on offer in the area. From memory, the Kirra lookout... More
