About
Under the careful and crafty eyes of our Distillers, Blenders and Bondsmen, millions of litres of Bundaberg Rum are aged to perfection here at the Bundaberg Rum Distillery. After protecting and ageing our rums since the 70s, the grand old guardian of the distillery Bondstore #7, has been given new life by being transformed into our immersive Bundaberg Rum Museum. Inside, you’ll walk through a series of 75,000 litre American White Oak Vats – the very same vats which have matured hundreds of thousands of litres of rum (after being emptied and rebuilt of course). Inside these vats live a sensory experience where you can see, touch and smell your way through our rich history in creating Australia’s Favourite Rum – Bundaberg Rum. Please ensure that you arrive at least 20-30 mins early for your tour, especially for the last tour of the day and during school holiday periods. Unfortunately Flammable devices; matches and lighters, as well as any item with a battery including; watches, cameras, and mobile phones, pose a fire hazard to the Distillery and cannot be taken on tour. Lockers are provided free of charge to store these items whilst inside the Distillery on tour. If you have a medically required device such as a hearing aid, give us a call in advance so we can make arrangements for you to bring those items with you.

Clean, well maintained and very friendly staff. I’ve done the tour a few times on previous trips and didn’t have time this round to do but each time was awesome. Just stopped into the distillery shop to purchase a few goodies for the road trip, never disappoints!

Fun and interesting tour, even if you’re not a rum drinker. An impressive local business who has done so well.
Great local attraction, even if you’re not a rum drinker. Leave enough time before your tour start time to have a good look at the interesting museum on the way in. Then the tour takes you behind the scenes to see how rum is made, with full credit to the two guides who keep it light and entertaining the whole way through. Two tasters per adult at the end in the bar round off the experience. We had our 16yo with us and she also enjoyed the visit.

Excellent tour taken by CJ and Danny. Very informative and well worth the tour price. Sampling at the end was a bonus and of course we had to buy a couple of bottles. My favorite is still the Bundaberg Black. The Rumball liqueur is also a nice drop over ice.

A fun couple of hours well worth the ticket price
A good informative museum to start things off, then our tour guide Damian was interesting and funny, brought the stuff to life. We went as a group of four and I was the only rum drinker and probably the only one actually expecting to enjoy the visit, but my companions were pleasantly surprised at how much fun they had. The samples at the end were delicious (We bought a bottle of the banoffee liqueur, highly recommend this). For $30 each, was well worth the ticket price.

    Engaging and enjoyable
Tour guides Sandy and Gee (???) were entertaining, engaging, fun, knowledgeable and passionate about their products. Excellent health and safety procedures. The tour was well -paced and very enjoyable. We enjoyed the museum and the talks. None of our party had previously tried Bunderberg rum - one of our party even stating they ‘hate rum’! At the end of the tour and the delicious tasting session - we are all converts.

I have done the tour before and enjoyed it very much. The purpose of this visit was to purchase some Bundaberg Coffee and Chocolate Liqueur. There was none available. This was a mild disappointment BUT it seems this variety has not been available for some time and nobody had any idea when it would be available. The fact that many customers were milling around looking for it and I had to stand in a queue for 10 minutes waiting to find out 'officially`this was the case is inexcusable. A couple of simple signs advising and apologising to customers of the situation would go a long way to increasing the company's customer relations strategy. The management know they have a problem but are unwilling to keep people informed for fear they may scare off some visitors. Pathetic really. I worked in the airline industry and one of the basic lessons I learned was that if we had a problem with a plane and you want to p!ss the passengers off, keep them in the dark. Tell people what the problem is and they will be accommodating. That's it for me with Bundaberg Rum. I have subsequently on line ordered a competitor's similar product that will be freighted to my door for the same price as buying it at the Bundaberg Distillery.

So looking forward to the rum distillery after many years of drinking the liquid gold. I was excited to see the bottles, carbonation and all the staff working hard, plus tasting all the different types!
Ohh dear, this wasn't the case at all. We waited in the barrel room and watched a short video on something? The staff advised us of the policies etc and remove phones watches and place in the cupboards. We walked around an empty factory not a staff member in sight, looked at a mud pit of molasses and tasted it, yuck!
Then returned to the main selling area and had two drinks!
Where was the bottles, labelling and excitement, South Australia apparently! All done there??
The main selling area had exactly the same stock on each of its shelves! The prices were high aswell. Dan Murphys was actually cheaper!
Ohh well. At least I visited what I thought was an Icon, I bought a $15 keyring and a $30 eskybag.
The attached photo of all the bottles from 19??
Was impressive!

If you are a lover of this iconic Australian Rum, then get yourself here! This is very informative on the beginnings of this unique rum and how it has grown to be part of Australian culture. I don't usually drink this brand but after a few taste tests, I walked away with quite a few goodies. The tour runs every hour and at the end you get 2 free samples to taste (liqueur and a rum). Shaz, our tour guide was great fun. Make sure you get there about 30 mins prior to your tour starting so you can check out the muesum. It can get a bit warm (especially thanks to Queensland humidity) so take a hat and a drink bottle (they won't fill it with rum, I know, we asked) A nice quick informative tour

I pre-booked a tour which is highly recommended during these times. Mack was our passionate, funny and enthusiastic tour guide taking us through the history of the making of rum in the area, as well as the process. The best bit was being able to sample one of the standard and one of the premium rums at the conclusion of the tour included in the tour price. The tour length was an hour and it was just the right length as we moved through the various buildings. Then we could sit with our drinks as long as we needed, and could even order another drink for additional cost

We booked online as it was cheaper and also got into an earlier tour, informative, friendly staff that could answer all your questions, we got our own lanyard, 2 free tastes and tried the molasses. The museum albeit small was well worth seeing before the tour. The shop had so many choices it was hard to make a decision!

Distillery tour was visually interesting. Shaz the tour guide appeared informative but majority of the group said they had no idea what she was saying as she rattled off her spiel too quickly. One person directly shared with Shaz about talking too fast but it didn’t matter. One lady totally missed the tour as she misunderstood the instruction re putting items in locker and thought she had to also remove all her jewellery.
Got left behind sadly.

Today we went for the tour of the Bundaberg Rum Distillery. Oh, yes, I had The Best Time.
Connery and Damien (Damo) guided us thru the history of the famous since 1888 rum, and the steps and tribulations to bring us this World Class drop of Gold.
Yes, I love Bundy Rum, so this was always going to be my favourite place, and still it was even better than I hoped.
Even before the tour we looked thru the museum and reviewed so many interesting artifacts, before seeing the Distillery, and then, best of all, tasting the various blends and liqueurs available.
The Best Day.
Well, it could have been better, but because of Covid19 they are not running the Blend Your Own experience, so I will have to come back for that when it's open.

Excellent tour from knowledgeable guide. Phones, wallets, handbags, watches etc are locked in lockers whilst on tour. Tour went through the different stages of making rum and finished with 2 tastes of anything made there.

Visiting Bundaberg, sugar and rum producing capital of Australia, you could hardly miss the lovely town’s principal attraction. I said to my wife after the tour had concluded, “Well that was 10/10”. The distallary museum information is written in an engaging style: light, humourous but informative, covering the history of how the idea and development of a rum distillary was first mooted back in the mid 19th Century.

Our main tour guide, Darcie, was a star. We are/were teachers and have to say that she has missed her vocation. Judith & Ebony played their part well too. It's an artform to keep a diverse group of visitors engaged, some a bit nerdy like us asking inquisitive questions, and others just waiting to get into the sampling session. This was handled with aplomb. We were also impressed with the lady who was head of the visitor experience who took one of our unanswered questions seriously and said that she would raise this with the powers that be. To be honest, the answer is not all that important, but attention to detail is. So high marks for the overall experience on that score.

I’ve barely said anything about the tour of the site, but suffice to say it is slick and the information provided was very interesting. Naturally, the tasting session at the close was the fun part. We had loads of pre-orders from friends who had visited before and we departed, smiling happily, with a bottle of select premium rumfir ourselves in hand.

This was the 3rd stop on our drinks tour day, after visiting the Bundaberg Barrell and Kalki Moon Distillery. We were booked for 1pm tour which included Blend your Own Rum Class. The tour was informative, had 2 tour guides, Lisa and Shaz. Shaz, was ok, but Lisa was more engaging with her communication. The blend your own rum was fun, but a bit disjointed, it was led by Shaz. Felt we could have learnt more around blending rum, but was glad we did it. Pretty neat that we can now order our own rum direct. Would recommend Blending your Own Rum Tour, and also recommend arriving 30 min before your tour, so you can spend a good time in the museum before hand.
