We were booked in for a farm tour and picnic package. When we arrived we checked in and were told to stay close by for the safety briefing that would happen soon and we were also given a map of the farm with information about the animals we were about to meet. The owner Carly also told me I could get a guinea pig out of the cage and give it a cuddle while we waited for the briefing to begin. I went straight for the cage and found a cuddly little buddy to keep me entertained while I waited. He was so sweet! Carly came out and gave everyone a briefing so we all understood where to go to find the animals. She also took us into the baby goat enclosure and I got to feed a baby goat from a bottle. Once this was over we then we set out to make our way around the farm and feed all the hungry animals that were waiting for us. We fed mini horses, ponies, big horses, alpacas, goats, sheep, pigs, cows, chickens and ducks. We also met Shadow, who is the farms working dog and an 11/10 good boy. We also saw a cat inside the house who seemed very jealous that everyone else was getting all the attention. Our picnic pack included sandwiches, muffins and slices, yoghurt and granola, chocolate mousse and two well earned cold drinks. It was all very tasty. There are plenty of shady picnic tables and nice green lawn to set up a picnic rug on. Splitters farm also offer a farm stay experience that is either BYO tent or caravan or you can choose to stay in their new glamping tents. The facilities block is brand new and very clean and nice. It looked really nice and we resolved to definitely come back and stay at some point in the not too distant future. Pro tip: choose the 10am tour if you can. This is the first tour of the day and the animals are hungry and waiting for you to feed them. They were super interactive and happy to see us and all of them were happy to eat out of our hands. I am not sure they would be the same for the last tour group of the day.

Thanks so much for taking the time to provide your feedback. Especially the advice about what times are best to come as you're correct, we aren't always bottle feeding babies at each and every time slot (or certain times of the year for that matter) so it does pay to call and find out first what's happening on the farm as each and every day is different. Thanks again and we hope to see you back on the farm soon. xx

Was lovely to meet the animals and be hands-on with some as well. It’s nice to have a description of how the animals came to the farm as well - although signs on each relevant paddock would be easier to distinguish each animal, rather than trying to find them in the brochure. The picnic lunch was huge - too much for us to finish - but the salads and sweets were delicious. Staff were friendly and easy to approach but mostly left us to our own devices.

Hey there and thank you for the review. Yes, we feel it's important for visitors to understand our story but even more exciting to explore our farm in your own way and at your own pace. We are currently working on a farm map so thanks for the advice and we will look to include this when our brochure goes to reprint. Thanks again and safe travels x

This used to be a beautiful place to take the children as a local. 4 adults and 4 children attended. This was on a public holiday over the christmas period! I have been to splitters farm on 4 occasions and the children attended with school. Initially we all loved the place, spread the news to other families in the area over the past year. However on this experience we arrived the park was very full with the new focus on the campers. It was unfortunate that there was no food available to feed the animals, the children were very dissapointed. Not one little bit.. when we asked staff if we could even purchase food they said, sorry we can't overfeed the animals and all the campers fed them early this morning and the 10am group so you won't be able to. It should be exained that if you attend later sessions you will not be able to feed the animals. We won't be going back and have spread the word to our friends, collegues and families in Bundy, the locals.

We're so sorry to hear that your experience was any less amazing than the former ones. Like anything, we've just come off a very busy school holiday season and our first at attempting to manage both day trippers and 100% full camp site. While we are not making excuses, most day trippers do come in the mornings when the animals are being fed. With the extra crowds we unfortunately can not continue to feed animals all day or it will make them sick which means vets...which becomes expensive. However, had management known you were unpleased we could have possibly made it special in other ways. We could have taken you in to collect eggs or hold the baby chickens or invited you to come back at another time especially given that you based locally. I believe we've attempted to contact you with regards to coming out again when it's less busy and we're still waiting for you to come back to us however we're sad to know that you went online after one negative experience, especially since having 3 great visits with us in the past. Our sincerest apologies and we really do wish you had communicated your feelings to management during your stay so we could have rectified the issue before your left. Please feel free to contact us if you wish to discuss further.

We recently returned from a week in our van at the farm in newly opened powered sites and cannot recommend in more. Our girls cried when we left (9 and13) and have not stopped talking about it since they returned. They loved the hands on experiences they had and the love of their farm that oozes from the staff is infectious. Each animal has a story (mostly rescues). Lovely brand new clean amenities ( a must for me 😉) Great old fashioned family fun, dam swimming, movies under the stars. Apx 20 mins for beach time also and 10 mins from main shops etc at Bundy. Can’t wait to come back and see the new projects in full swing!!

Thanks so much for your kind words and the reassurance that good old family fun mixed with quality amenities are appreciated. We really have tried to build a boutique farm stay experience and we appreciate you letting us know your thoughts. I know we will see you back on the farm soon so the girls can catch up with all their favourite animal friends. Safe travels......Farmer Carly xx
