Larger than expected, the women at the entrance where very nice. 5$ per person. Museum well kept, really interesting to get to know the importance of this town especially with the arrival of British convicts. Parking with trailer is possible on a side street.

I was thoroughly impressed with the experience. The exhibits were well-curated and provided a deep dive into the history of the area. From the Indigenous cultures to the early European settlers, there was something for everyone to learn and appreciate. The staff were also extremely knowledgeable and friendly, making the visit even more enjoyable. I highly recommend checking out this museum if you're in the area, you won't be disappointed

Thanks for your review, rating and recommendation. Our small front exterior can be a little deceiving. Yes we are bigger than we look and full of well curated local stories waiting to be discovered. Our staff (we are all volunteers) love sharing our local history with visitors. We have a large collection, so there is usually something new to see on every visit.

Simply wonderful museum. Full of detailed information, Port Macquarie's extensive history and well-preserved items from the past that create an excellent experience that both educates and inspires. Staff very helpful, accommodating and keen to enhance an already excellent day out. Absolutely sublime from start to finish.

My mate and I were on holiday, we read about this place online and decided to visit it. We were blown away by how good this museum was. It start at the beginning, when Port macquarie was an penal colony and go all the way to modern day, keeping the focus on the city. It is run by volunteers who are lovely and welcoming, who were more than willing to share their knowledge and experience.

We took our Grandson here as he loves anything historical, the displays were really good, and the game they gave hi. To play made it more fun. The museum looks so tiny from the outside, but once inside it opens up into a maze of hallways and rooms. We enjoyed the visit as much as the grandson did

Thanks for your review and rating. We are a family friendly museum and it is great to hear that your grandson loves history. Our I Spy trail is a fun way to explore our museum and exhibits. Yes, we are much bigger on the inside than we look from the outside! Pleased to hear that you all enjoyed your visit.

This museum is definitely worth a visit. Explains the history of Port Macquarie, by a series of rooms. Very clean and so well planned. Could really spend a few hours reading all the information. Museum is run by lovely volunteers and very reasonably priced.

Amazing volunteers, very clean, well planned out, one of the best museums i have been to. They’re could have been more advertising but as it is heritage listed they are unable to put signs on building.

Yes, it is a bit frustrating not being able to put signs on our heritage building but we are working on some alternatives. We think all our volunteers are amazing too! Incredible piece of history about port macquarie! There was so many fantastic stories and valuable pieces of history around the museum. Visited on the first day of being in port macquarie and absolutely loved it. There was so much detail in all of the information provided for different items of history.
