Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Great views, easy to access. When we were there, it went from being a glorious sunny day to a very windy and dark stormy day. It was a bit scary so did not venture too close to the viewing deck or the edge of the lighthouse as the winds were extremely strong.

The lighthouse is only 8km from the centre of Port Macquarie. It is well worth the drive as it has sprawling views of the coastline both north and south. There is also what remains of the lighthouse keepers cottage on site. There is a couple of staircases to negotiate to get the full view, so you must be able to get up those to get the most out of your visit. Lovely place!

We took a drive here whilst in Port Macquarie, and the views from the lighthouse out to sea and across the beaches are incredible. We were so lucky to see a humpback whale breaching quite far out, and a dolphin from the lookout point which was amazing. Breathtaking views and wish I could come back again as this is one of the most beautiful beaches I’ve seen.

Worth the trip! We visited in early November on Sunday afternoon and found plenty of parking. Spent about 15-20 minutes walking around and enjoying the views of the lighthouse and the nearby beach.

Go there to see the sunrise. At this vantage highpoint, best to view the sun rising slowly in the morning. Soak in the fresh air and enjoy the breathtaking views. See whales from afar migrating south and fooling around in the waters. What a sight to behold.

This amazing little lighthouse takes you back in time to a simpler era. The views from the cliffs of Lighthouse Beach is worth the effort. This place has enough history to keep everyone informed.

Interesting place to visit on the coastal path. Good to get time to read the boards that illustrate what life was like as a lighthouse keeper. Great view point too, with views in either direction. Highly recommended.

Went on a cloudy day but you can see left and right (especially) for kilometres. Short walk around to see everything but well worth the drive. Car parking is tight and definitely luck of the draw.

There are spectacular views from this headland. Unfortunately you cannot enter the lighthouse but this doesn’t detract from the visit. This spot would make the perfect starting point for a coastal walk. Access to the lighthouse is relatively easy and the footpath access is good although there are a number of steps.

This place was a short drive from the town centre. We’d been told parking was tight so we got there early (before 9) and found a spot easily. Lovely views all the way down the coast. Then we walked down to the beach and explored the rocks and deep pools.
