- Bharat ISydney, Australia230 contributionsGreat Costal walkThis was a great costal walk from the Shelley beach - where the centre is - to the Tacking point Lighthouse. It is a great mixture of rain forest and beach trails, with ups and downs finally reaching the lighthouse. highly recom..Visited January 2023Written 10 January 2023
- Aussie Uber GPort Macquarie, Australia12 contributionsGreat walk for the kids despite partly closedWe had been to the cafe before but didn't think the kids would like the walk. Turns out the loved it. They saw a goanna, a water dragon and a powerful owl that one of the volunteers pointed out. The shop sells lovely products and the staff were so good with the kids. Highly recommend for families if you want to burn some energy with the kids. It was half price when we went but they said back to normal by January.Visited December 2022Travelled with familyWritten 20 January 2023
- Monica DSydney, Australia71 contributionsLove this place! This was our third visit to Sea Acres over a 10 year period. Friendly staff at the visitors' centre and we met a great volunteer guide along the path who pointed out some interesting things that we would have missed. Easy walking track. We would recommend a visit.Visited January 2023Written 4 February 2023
- Jan BPort Macquarie, Australia66 contributionsPerfect in The RainDid you know that you can buy a yearly pass? If it’s raining, this is the best place to go because you can still go for a 2 km walk without getting wet. The rain can’t get through the canopy and it is beautiful. Lovely cafe with great coffee!Visited April 2023Travelled soloWritten 8 April 2023

It’s a lovely, easy walk around the boardwalk in a very relaxing and cool rainforest. Different types of wildlife to look out for.Visited April 2023Travelled with friendsWritten 3 May 2023
- BiffroLondon, United Kingdom1,165 contributionsBeautiful walk and a worthwhile visitWe visited this little haven one afternoon, and it is such a beautiful and serene walk with the most stunning rainforest plants and bird life. The walk is so pleasant along a very well maintained boardwalk. The walk is 1.2km, and it is a loop. We spent an hour here, but you can spend longer. If you are quiet and wait patiently you get to see lots of birds hiding in the forest. We visited on a hot day and the forest serves as a natural air conditioner. We loved this place and such a worthwhile visit. They also have a lovely little shop with so many unusual souvenirs at quite reasonable prices.Visited July 2023Travelled as a coupleWritten 11 July 2023
- wendyvb20182 contributionsGreat experienceWe loved walking slowly through the rainforest, in fact, we went back again in the afternoon (for free) to walk the other way. We saw many birds, a wallaby and amazing plants. The most unique experience was hearing a Cat Bird call, which sounds like a baby.Visited July 2023Written 27 July 2023

Cafe is average, coffee is just so so… The Rangers are lovely, you can get a guide if you would like to know more about the forest, have seen lots of animals… A favourite place to relax. Sea Acres Rainforest Centre is just 10 mins from Poret Macquarie CBD
More than enough parking.
Treat yourself and start with an amazing coffee, fresh juice and fantastic freshly made food in the café.
There's boardwalk stretches for the entirety of the 1.3 km VERY EASY walk. Do yourself a favour and stop at every one of the little information sign-posts. These are some of the best we've ever seen. With actually interesting information as well as an extra paragraph that explains the Aboriginal usages of the plant/tree etc.
There are some benches along the way as well. Take the time to sit and just BE!

It was absolutely pouring rain the day we visited - so very much raining in the rainforest LOL
We were allowed to take in umbrellas and still enjoyed our walk along the board walk and soaking in the serenity of the forest.
