Visited Thomas wines early one morning and tried our luck as a walk-in. Staff were more than accommodating and very friendly. Great place to compare 2 styles of what the hunter is known for, Sémillon and shiraz. We just did the standard 8 tastings (4 sem and 4 shiraz). Staff were very insightful and engaging and poured a nice 30mm tasting so you could really enjoy what was being showcases to you. Definitely visit here for tastings and well priced wines too!

Lovely location. Staff knoledgeable during the wine journey. Felt the wines were typical of other HV doors. There were 1-2 interesting options mixing SA juice with HV. First time some one has explained shown different HV earth types, and effect on wines.

We thoroughly enjoyed our tasting with Nick at Thomas Wines this November. Hearing wines described in terms of personality and types of greetings ("a firm handshake" vs. "a little wave from afar") was both unexpected and educational! The staff here are attentive, engaging, and very knowledgable, and I especially appreciate their prioritizing covid safety! Many thanks for an unforgettable tasting experience. -Meghan & James

We came in on a weekday morning and had an absolutely lovely experience, Al who served us was delightful and had great knowledge about the wines and winemaking process. The wines that were highlights for us were the 2013 Semillon, 2018 Dejavu Shiraz and the 2013 Kiss Shiraz.

The structured tasting , which is now seen everywhere in wineries, needed to be booked ahead and planned . Qe were happy to prepay the tasting fee for the premium level , which potentially allowed us to taste up to 17 wines. The tasting notes were excellent and comprehensive enough for our needs . The tasting guide , whom we had met previously was again excellent , French , charming and very engaging . We were taken through the list , and issues such as smoke taint and climate change were explained as they affect the current vintqge . The surrounding area is attractive with expansive views of the valley . The owner Andrew was around and was happy to have a quick chat . A very enjoyable experience and one we will repeat when we visit the Hunter Valley again.
