About
Moorebank Vineyard is a family owned & operated vineyard since 1986 & is one of the most renowned boutique & unique estates in the Hunter Valley. Within our Cellar Door we showcase not only traditional Hunter varieties but also a range of unusual blends & contemporary wine style trends. Also on offer are the newest releases from the Grandis Wines label, which are unique drops inspired by our eldest son Shannon, that include small batch, alternative varieties of the Hunter & NSW. Food lovers can feast their eyes on our selection of hand-made, wine inspired condiments, spreads & sauces which are all made by Debra Moore, owner & founder of Moorebank, where she utilizes old family recipes that were handed down from her 102 year old grandmother. Taste our wines & handmade produce while you wine a little & laugh a lot! Conserve Water, Drink Moorebank Wine

Really enjoyed visiting this small winery, great family atmosphere and the wines were great. Also enjoyed the relishes and lemonade. Something for everyone including non drinkers. Even got greeted by Stella the familys dog!

Beautiful homely vibe
Jan. 2021 • Friends
We visited Moorebank as a group and we thoroughly enjoyed it.

The vineyard has a homely, country feeling and Deb made us feel very welcome.

We enjoyed learning about their family and vineyard history while sampling their wines.

Try the condiments that are available for sale, so tasty!

Chocolate and wine, whats not too like!
Dec. 2020 • Couples
We got there basically at open as we checked out of our hotel to get on the road to Sydney. We stopped in just to pickup some of the Spicy Grape Sauce for a family member and walked out with a mix of everything.
This was after having a lovely chat with Deb and Summar and then having a wine and chocolate tasting. Amazing pairing of wines and chocolates and strongly recommend this if in the Hunter.

We finished our tasting off with a glass of the Fresh Lemonade Syrup, of which I bought 2 bottles it was amazing!

Best Vinyard!
Nov. 2020
This was the first of 4 vineyards tried today. We HAD to go back at the end of the trip as there was no better 2014 Merlot! Amazing staff, very friendly and such a great atmosphere.

Beautiful family gem
Oct. 2020
We never fail to visit this family owned vineyard whenever we're at Hunter Valley. Have bought several cases of their SCG a few times but they've sold out this trip. We tried their 2020 Grandis Rose - would definitely recommend to friends. Never leave without grabbing a bottle or two of their freshly made lemonade syrup - pretty handy for cocktails!

It was lovely chatting to Summar and her family members - we even got to pat their goat.

A true Hunter Valley Gem. Summar is a beautiful breathe of fresh air, so kind and very funny! Delicious wines and condiments. It was lovely to see their family pictures displayed and talk about their family history making wine and living in the Hunter. Great experience/bought some great bottles and the Spicy Grape Sauce! Will be back and will recommend to family and friends :)

Great place to visit
Sep. 2020 • Couples
We visited Moorebank today and Summer looked after us very well. She was very warm and genuine - just what you expect in a family owned winery. We enjoyed several wines and the grape sauce is delicious. We would definitely recommend Moorebank to other visitors to the Hunter Valley.

Only bad experience in the Hunter
Aug. 2020
Don't go if you have kids. We went to the Hunter for the weekend with friends and after reading the reviews thought about trying a new winery for us - Moorebank. From the beginning - as we declined their cheese platter were were clearly not welcome (having just come from lunch) - we thought they would understand. If you have children, they are not welcome and seemed to upset the owner. Their son was a bright part and was made for hospitality - great guy and did make us feel welcome despite our little ones upsetting his mom the owner. She was very pushy on us buying certain types of wine and was offended that I only wanted to buy their white wine.

Daniel, It is really disheartening to read this as we always try to be extremely accommodating to all guests but especially families, as there are several cellar doors in the Hunter that don't allow young children. Both my mother Debra & brother Truman informed me of Sunday & both agreed it was certainly a busy one, there were also other customers that day that commented on the kiddies running around during their tasting, so by the sounds of things the little ones were certainly ready to get out & expand some energy. I also found myself re-arranging a few things back into place around the cellar door on Monday morning so I knew it must have been a Sunday with lots of kids wanting to touch everything in reach. Our property is not only our home but also a working farm, so when children are being allowed to roam free & not under a watchful eye at all times, this can be of some concern to us as owners of the property, especially if they are young & aren't understanding of potential hazards. I feel Deb was only trying her best to ensure your kids were being kept safe. With Deb having 5 kids of her own & several grandchildren, it's upsetting to hear you may have felt she was out of line on how she approached the different instances. We try to be accommodating to young ones however in return we kindly ask that all guests, whatever the age, please be respectful of our property, grounds & belongings, but to also please be mindful of other guests who may be visiting at the same time. I'm not sure if these 2 requests were respected on your part. We have several specials & deals on multiple wines at the moment that we don't want anyone to miss out on, as our main job is to sell our wine, that is how we make a living. We aren't a 'bar' or a playground for that matter, we are a licensed Cellar Door. What separates us from a bottle shop is the provided service of sampling wines before purchasing, so apologies if this seemed as being 'pushy'. After spending a lot of time attending to your group, allowing the children to roam & be free, 1x $20 bottle of wine was purchased out of your group of 4 & in the end we receive a 1 star review. I'm still a little confused as to how we qualified for a 1 star & provided the 'Only bad experience in the Hunter'? Did your children not have a good time and this is why you are recommending that other families don't visit us? Or is it because possibly your children were getting a little too relaxed & someone other than yourself was having to reprimand their behaviour? Since reopening 2 months ago our small family team of 3 staff members have been trying our best to handle the intense influx of customers 7 days a week so we apologise that on this particular day we just weren't performing at our most patient. COVID-19 has put its own set of pressures on our family business so unfortunately our small $7p.p tasting fee is now non-redeemable, sorry this was incorrectly quoted by myself. But adding to that pressure is the need to be performing at 100%, all of the time, as in result we are at the mercy of reviews & ones like yours are extremely hurtful yet constructive but also damaging to a small business like ourselves. It makes us question whether we should become like the other cellar doors that don't accept children or do we just let one unfortunate experience make us handle things differently. Maybe insisting your children sat down at the table quietly with you for the duration of your tasting might have been a better approach? It's a shame you felt the need to express your dissatisfaction on a public forum without coming to us directly but I hope my reply assists in bringing you some understanding on our side of the experience. At the end of the day we are simply trying to do our best, as this is our livelihood & we take comments like yours very seriously & not to mention to heart as well, especially when we are being personally victimised. Take care. Summar.

Summar the star
Jul. 2020 • Couples
The magic happens when a engaging member of the wine family connects with you and serves you the best they can offer. From the phone booking to the actual tasting, Summar is a true star of the Moore bank family. There has been so much information shared on the history of the family wine making and we had so much laughter together. A return visit is definitely being planned and we cannot wait to open the ‘Summar’ semilion when we get back to Sydney. 5 stars all the way.

We keep coming back
Jul. 2020
Have been visiting Moorebank for about 30 years. Absolutely love the Late Harvest Semillon and Moorescato and both were on "special". Bought more than planned, Love the spicy grape sauce so again bought more for home.

I can highly recommend the muscat too.

The family who own this establishment are delightful. You will also love their dog Stella. It is sad that Sheila (the black sheep) is no longer with us but you can meet the very naughty goat.
