My husband bought me a Red Balloon voucher called 'Hunter Valley Scenic Helicopter Flight & Picnic - For 2' for Christmas 2018. We didn't book itin until the 23rd of December 2019...at least we did it before Christmas lol. It was AMAZING, the pilot was fantastic & was bombarded with questions from my husband, who has started training for his pilot license, and pointed out landmarks for us on our way to the Audrey Wilkinson Estate where we were greeted with Champagne!! We felt like such superstars. This was followed by a private wine tasting & picnic (complete with cheese platte & a wine we picked during our tasting). We were then flown back to the airport after our experience
It was an amazing experience that we will not forget! Thank you

We had the most wonderful day on our “feast for the senses” experience. Everyone was extremely friendly and helpful and fun. The initial helicopter ride and hunter valley tour was exciting and beautiful. We then landed at the restaurant and had an absolutely massive lunch (multiple courses of top quality food plus wine served by friendly and engaging staff on beautiful tableware surrounded by original art through the restaurant). After lunch we strolled across the grass to our fantastic full body couples massage - the establishment was clean, beautifully decorated and relaxing and the massage was divine). At the end of it all we were picked up by helicopter and transported back to our car at Cessnock Airport. I HIGHLY recommend this decadent adventure which was truely a feast for all senses.

I had a TIF (trial instructional flight) with Oliver, which was a birthday present voucher given to me. I watched an instructional video on how to control the helicopter and Oliver gave me plenty more information and answered my questions before jumping in and taking off. We did straight & level, turns, climbs & descents, primary & secondary effects of controls, and Oliver even demonstrated an auto-rotation for me. I was a bit surprised at how easy it was to control the helicopter - although we didn't attempt a hover - and I'm sure Oliver was helping me on the controls haha. After the flight Oliver was more than happy to show me some mechanical aspects of the machine and answer all my questions in an unhurried way. I don't have any plans to pursue a helicopter pilot's licence, but if I did then I had a great first impression of Hunter Valley Helicopters and the R22 (although I was wishing I was 2cm shorter in the cabin!!). Really enjoyed the experience!

Scenic flight over Newcastle and Lake Macquarie - a fantastic gift from our children for our Golden Anniversary. Have lived in Newcastle all my life and to see it from the air was absolutely amazing, such a different view - even picked out many landmarks including homes we have lived in. Our pilot Adam was courteous, helpful and very informative - would thoroughly recommend.

I bought a bespoke package from the team and it was one of the best birthday gifts i have ever given. we were picked up from the hotel by adam and taken to 3 wineries. he was hilarious and great fun to fly with, extremely helpful in terms of our tastings and allowed us to stay as long as we wanted at our third location. he made our weekend amazing and cant thank the team enough for an awesome experience.

Adam's landing at Audrey Wilkinson was extremely impressive and smooth!

We finished it off with a sunset flight back to the hotel and a helicopter filled with wine! Best wine tour ever!

Perfect birthday gift

I chose the helicopter ride with two winery tastings as a suprise birthday gift for my partner and it was worth every cent. Grayson and Amy were so friendly and pointed out plenty of great things to do in the hunter. I took Grayson's advice on the wineries and absolutely loved the experience there. Would do this again!

A great experience

One of the most enjoyable helicopter experiences I’ve had. The aircraft was comfortable with room for just three passengers and the visibility was excellent. We did a circuit right around the Hunter Valley. We picked a perfect time: a clear November day when everything was green but I guess that any time when the visibility is good would be rewarding.

Great experience

Enjoyed a helicopter flight across the valley, a tasting at Ivanhoe wines, picnic lunch then return flight. Pilot Oliver was an excellent host, the flight was a life experience. Paula at Ivanhoe wines continued the experience. Her knowledge and good company were all you could ask for. Excellent picnic amongst the vines and nice quick trip home. A day to remember

A brilliant but brief flip around the Valley

Wanted to do something a bit different so chose a 6 minute flight around the valley.

After signing in and doing the safety checks we were off and back before we knew it, but with some brilliant pictures and memories.

The pilot was very friendly too and took some great pics for us and gave us some interesting information.

We’ll definitely be back to try a sunset flight and maybe go for a 10 minter next time

The whole experience from sign in back to the car took around half hour or so

Absolutely Spectacular

I suprised my wife with a helicopter wine tour for the weekend and these guys were absolutely amazing. From organising the helicopter to land at our hotel, to recommending awesome wineries to try out. The flight was smooth, safe and spectacular. Oliver has a winning business here and I can't recommend him enough, thank you for such a great flight.
