Glen , the owner, was an absolute pleasure to deal with and handled my many changes and multiple requested with professionalism and positive attitude. He was very flexible with us and on the day of the hire gave us the opportunity to cancel as it was raining. We didn't cancel and rode around in the rain which was fine - the bikes were in a really good condition and easy to use! We were given a map and lots of suggestions which were very helpful. After we gave the bikes back we did some wine tasting at the winery on site and bought some lovely Chardonnay too.
I would really highly recommend Glen and the bikes if you want a fun day wine tasting that doesn't break the bank. You will be well looked after and receive professional service!

If you're in Pokolbin you have to spend the day riding through the vineyards.
Grapemobile is an excellent option. Glen was very welcoming, thorough and helpful. Happy to provide any assistance required from the beginner cyclist to the expert, routes to take and places to visit were customised too - excellent personal service.
Lots of very well maintained bikes with roadside support anytime.
We are cyclists but chose to take electric bikes for a lazy day of riding. Essentially you peddle gently and the bike does the rest of the work. Perfect for the hills and for taking in the beautiful countryside without cracking a sweat! Don't be a Scotsman in this department (money tight) spend the few extra dollars for the e-bikes. It's 100% worth it and you won't regret it.
We spent the whole day, visited a number of wineries, travelled about 16km all up with ease.
The roads are really good for riding, these is a dedicated cycle path in two sections of the HV too. Glen also tells you which roads have good riding shoulders too.
My bike had a basket on the back which was perfect for our camera, day gear and water bottles though you could pop several bottles of wine in too. Glen also had backpacks to loan for the bikes without baskets.
We ended up running late getting back (too much relaxing enjoying wine at Hart & Hunter) but Glen was very understanding and flexible. When we got back we had a lovely chat over wine slushies (a cool refreshing novelty at the end of the day) and a tasting from his own estate wine too. We are scout leaders and turns out Glen was a scout too so we had a great time.
Overall - chillax, don't rush or stress, enjoy the ride it's fantastic.
Can't recommend using Grapemobile enough (the people before us collecting bikes was their 5th time!). Will be back next time we're in the HV.

We hired e-bikes from Grapemobile and I would definitely recommend it as the easiest way to get around wine country. The staff were exceptionally friendly and had maps and advice of where to visit and how to plan out our day to make the most of it. The cost was very fair, and baskets had plenty of room to hold wines we picked up along the way.

We hired 4 electric bikes for 2 adults and 2 teenagers. Everyone loved it. The bikes were easy to use. Even for the unfit it made for fun and easy riding. I can’t believe how far we went. Glen helped us find the places of interest to us and we were able to take in the beautiful countryside on the way. Thanks so much, we’ll be doing again next time we visit the Hunter.

We really enjoyed our time here, it is a great way to experience the hunter valley.
The bikes were good quality and service was great. The ladies retro bike had a handy basket where you could fit your bag or a few bottles of wine that you purchased. We ordered the conventional bikes and booked a few days ahead.
We did the Western Loop first, where we passed through a vineyard and saw some kangaroos hopping through as well, booked Constable Estate and Scarborough.
Scarborough was our favourite tasting despite it being slightly more expensive than others - but their cheese platter is amazing and it is good value as you get to take the tastings home in small bottles.
Constable Estate has some nice gardens that you can ride around in their estate. Would require a bit of fitness, but if you are not very fit, it's fine, you can always walk up the hilly driveways (like I did).
Afterwards, we went and did the Eastern loops towards Calais estate for a picnic lunch. The views were nice, we walked up the hill behind it. The zucchini and fig jams were delicious, but otherwise, probably not the best value for money.
Unfortunately, it started raining so we headed back and dropped off our bikes.

Awesome experience, extremely helpful staff. Very safe.
Cannot recommend Grape Mobile more highly if you are in Hunter Valley for a short visit.
An e-Bike is a definite must to climb the hill to Scarborough Estate plus you have you own complete flexibility.
Glenn was incredibly helpful days before we arrived and suggested great wineries and lunch spots for us to go. Covid rules mean one needs to book wine tasting in advance.
Will definitely do it again when we're back in HV.

A game changer ! We were lucky enough to be visiting the Hunter Valley on our last weekend before rushing back to the UK for lockdown. The experience of riding our electric bikes was fun and fast from the moment we were told how to use them - a map drawn and off we went. As someone who hadn’t ridden one before and has had to give up bicycling due to angina these really were fantastic. The speed , the ease and the distance you can travel obviously helped by a generous dose of sunshine and wine tasting without having to drive a car. The chaps at Grapemobile couldn’t have been more friendly and efficient whilst also introducing us to the amazing beer slush puppie! A fabulous day and the best way to enjoy it.

My partner and I hired the electric bikes from Glen at Grape Mobile in the Hunter Valery and we had an awesome day! The elctirc bikes were fantastic, especially when we came to a hill or two. Glen was so helpful and thorough with instructions on how to use the bikes with a joke or 2 thrown in 😃 On returning the bikes we sat and had some of the wines he had on site and chatted to him about our adventure (Moscato & Wine slushies were amazing). Thanks Glen and Grape Mobile for creating an unforgettable experience in the Hunter.

The guys greeted us upon arriving, checked us in, offered us a tasting from their Sparkling Moscato, then sized our helmets and provided a comprehensive review of the bike. A map was provided with suggestions of where to go for the day, and off we went.
It was so easy to ride around, the hills weren’t an issue getting up and down them and following our return, we were offered (for a very reasonable price) a beer slushie which was delicious.
This was our second experience and will be back in 2 weeks with more of our children for a day of riding, tasting and eating.

The highlight of our trip to Hunter valley ! Grapemobiles was a peak five star experience facilitated by Glen and Robert, two absolute legends who build a friendship as oppose to just getting business out of you. They took their time to explain the best routes and efficient journeys. We had plenty of laughs before departing on our tandem adventure and upon return we sat and had wine slushies (which were surprisingly amazing).
Grapemobiles is a place we will drop by any time in the Hunter even just to say hello. Could not rate this business any higher and oh…. Pokolbin brothers wines is exceptional too.

Hi everyone.I am going to go to Australia soon .I know that the weather here is winter now so I want to ask that can I go to the grape field now?Is it beautiful like in spring?
Written 26 June 2017
Hi Hu'o'ng Linh,
Thank you for your enquiry. Although it is winter here, the weather is mild with daily temperature reaching around 18 deg.C.
it is not as warm as spring, but many winter days are nice and sunny.
The grape vines are dormant, with the green leaf not attached. however, the scenery is still spectacular, and the wine & food taste is excellent.
We hope you will decide to visit Grapemobile Bicycle Hire to cycle through the grape fields and see the kangaroos when you visit Australia. We are sure you will have a wonderful time.
Best regards from Glen Thomson, Managing Director, Grapemobile Bicycle Hire.

I would like to book 6 bikes , 3 men's , 3 ladies, on the 19th March, we are staying at Harrigans Irish pub. Can you advise me of the tour we could do from your bike pick up that would only have country lanes and tracks but would visit at least a few vineyards thank you
Written 25 February 2016
Hi!
Thank you for your enquiry,
We presently have 6 bikes, 3 mens & 3 ladies, available for hire on Saturday, 19th March, 2016.
Our bus pick-up/return option from your local accommodation at Harrigans Irish Pub to our own centrally located vineyard hire base is also available.
Our popular Grapemobile tour product includes cycling along country lanes & off-road trails through private vineyard properties, with the option of visiting up to 9 boutique wineries along the way, all offering tastings and free delivery of purchases back to our hire base.
There are two trail loops, both around 5km each, with wineries spaced at 1km or less apart. Most people do both loops, but that's up to you, and the amount of time you wish to spend at each winery.
The trails & the bikes are designed mainly for people who are into casual, easy cycling, not so much for serious professional cyclists. We are more about fun, food & wine!
Bikes can also be fitted with baskets, and we also include VIP Lanyard passes (for private access & complimentary wine tastings), sunscreen, bikes, helmets, bottled water, free photo, comprehensive map & instruction.
To make a booking, you would just need to visit our Grapemobile website, fill & send the 'Contact Us' form, then we'll confirm your requirements with times & availability. Once we follow the booking process & receive your deposit of $10.00pp, your bicycle reservation is confirmed.
Hoping this info helps.
Cheers
