As a group of eight friends we had a fantastic day visiting wineries with Tex a couple of weeks ago. The tour was at an enjoyable pace and Tex kept his cool all day even though it was a balmy 48 degrees! Lots of laughs were shared all day and the wine information was very interesting and knowledgeable. We would not hesitate to recommend Tex Tours and also book the tour again some time in the future. Thanks Tex!

FANTASTIC DAY had on our wine tour with Tex, great way to celebrate my 50th birthday with a group of 10. He was on time, funny & didn't rush us. Every winery was pre-booked which made the experience easy & relaxing. He recommended the Irish Pub for lunch & I'm glad we took up his recommendation, as it exceeded our expectations. Would use him again & highly recommend. He even put up with our Macedonian singing on the way home;)

We had a family weekend over Easter at Pokolbin. We arranged Tex to take us around for 2 days. He is so knowledgeable and so much fun. We wante
d him to join us for tasting and lunch.
He is so reliable and great company.
He is now part of the family.

My partner and myself went on a wine tasting tour with Tex tours (25/07/14). Having never being on a wine tasting tour we didn't really know what to expect but from our friendly pick up to our friendly goodbyes we certainly did enjoy ourselves. I liked that Tex was bursting with knowledge of the local wine industry and knew how to make the tour fun for everybody aboard. I also liked going to some of the boutique cellar doors to mix things up from the more commercial wineries, I found them to be a bit more passionate about their product. You could tell that Tex had good relationships with the wineries as well. Everybody knows Tex! All in all a great day to be had on this tour. I highly recommend.

No doubt that it was Tex arriving to collect our group of 8 for a day tour. He is certainly a large character and immediately engaged the whole group with humor and lots of commentary. The 4 wineries he selected for us were excellent and each had a special story to tell in a very personal and relaxed atmosphere. Even the non wine lovers in the group had a great time. Excellent spot for lunch as well as stops for cheese and chocolates. Couldn't have asked for more. Well done Tex.

We stayed up in the Hunter Valley for a couple of nights to do a wine-tasting tour, but couldn't get comfortable with the list of tours recommended by the hotel, so searched on Trip Advisor. Finding Tex, with nothing but 4 and 5 ratings, felt the obvious choice, and discovering he was a one-man band made it even more exciting. Tex is larger than life, the best fun you can hope to have in a single day. He knows his stuff, is totally reliable, is competitively priced, plans ahead to make your day run smoothly, is full of wonderful and hilarious quips, and is a genuine, fantastic guy. While we were wine tasting we always knew he was just around the corner, letting us get on with it but making sure things were going smoothly. Tex totally made our Hunter Valley trip.

Strewth this bloke is ripper tune. Kept us informed by tex(t) all the way with the booking. Drove the van like a stabbed rat. More fun than a box of kangaroos.... Must say tex is real good.

A man who knows the region well & makes you laugh non-stop along the way!!!! The tour takes you off the beaten track to boutique wineries, plus cheese & chocolate tastings & then onto some bigger vineyards with top views!
Tex's knowledge of the area, grape varieties & wines mixed with some good humor makes for a delightful 'Hunter blend'! WE CANNOT recommend TEX Tours HIGHLY enough - it's TOP SHELF!!!

We were having a bit of a family reunion in the hunter valley over a wine tasting weekend with 6 of us (mum, dad, 2 sons (26 & 28) and the 2 girlfriends (27 & 29).
We have been to the hunter valley a few time and tried to book with Tex but until now he had been booked out so we went with other companies.
This time we managed to book with Tex and went to 4 wineries with him today as well as a cheese and chocolate tasting. From the moment Tex picked the 6 of us up it really was non-stop laughs. We felt relaxed and comfortable with him straight away and didn’t want the trip to end. The choice of vineyards was fantastic and Tex was even kind enough to organise a substitute vineyard at the very last minute when he realised we had previously been to one of the wineries on the itinerary.
Very keen to book future tours with Tex and would highly recommend it to a friend! Never before had we had such an entertaining tour guide - and even with the jokes and banter, Tex was also very unobtrusive letting us enjoy the wineries and learn a thing or two along the way.

Thanks girls , yes pickup from within the Pokolbin wine region ranges from
10-1020 am , If you send through your proposed date of tour and pickup address / location for the day , I can then check availability and send through a per head quote with basic itinerary

Personal service with a genuine Aussie giving you a lighthearted look into a beautiful region. Been on plenty of tours over about 20 years visiting the Hunter and between Tex and maybe only James' tours they both outdo plenty of others on their passion and pride in making the experience great for all involved because it is their business and name at the front of it
