Pokolbin Estate Vineyard & The Hunter Olive Centre are set in the heart of Hunter Valley wine country. We offer a range of boutique wines and gourmet foods, available for tasting daily. At Pokolbin estate we offer a range of premium wines and a sensual selection of gourmet foods at our Hunter Olive Centre. Where possible, our foods and wines are locally grown and produced in the hunter using only the best produce available. Our wines are exclusively handpicked and crafted from the grapes grown on our Pokolbin Estate and adjacent Belebula Vineyards. Our philosophy of wine is to create wines of distinction that easily compliment every day foods. Our multi-award winning boutique style wines are meticulously crafted and balanced yet maintain their elegant structure. Our varietals include Semillon, Shiraz, Chardonnay, Riesling, Sangiovese, Nebbiolo, and Tempranillo, all of which can be tasted and purchased at our cellar door.

Terrific staff here, very knowledgeable and friendly. The wine tasting was delicious and they had some different wines to taste which made for a fun tasting!
If you have the Entertainment Card, they offer 25% discount which makes it even better value. Would certainly recommend.

We had a horse carriage wine tour with a group of 10 on the 12th September 2020, Mitchel was our host and he did an incredible job describing the wine. He had a lovely assistant with him which recommended me a few wines (as I am not much of a wine drinker) the Sangiovese Bela Rosa, Riesling Late Harvest 2014 Riesling Sparkling Boujee 2018 and the 2016 Neil’s Autumn Harvest Riesling were delightful! Everyone was happy with their purchases. Lovely spot with many condiments to purchase for a upcoming platter to share with friends.

Went here on a wine tour. They barely poured a sip of wine, it was stingy and turned the group off buying wine (we purchased a lot everywhere else).
The best bit about the winery was the hot (for Hunter Valley) guy serving.

We were on a horse and carriage tour of 13 family and friends. Shelby greeted us at the tasting and noted that she hadn’t known we had two children in our party. She then proceeded to make two tasting paddles of juices and treats for my two boys who were just delighted. The wines we tried were excellent particularly the late harvest Riesling. Shelby was knowledgeable and friendly and handled the very busy atmosphere with ease. She is an absolute asset to this establishment. She also made our children feel part of the experience which isn’t something you encounter usually at wineries. I can’t wait to receive my order when I get back home. Thanks Shelby!

Jacob took us through 6 of Pokolbin Estate wines and was very knowledgeable. He was passionate about the wines on offer. We went to other cellar doors and rated the quality of Pokolbin Estate wines above more expensive wines. Became Pokolbin Estate members and will definitely be purchasing more of their delicious wines in the near future.

The wines were amazing. We purchased three bottles. The highlight of this visit was Hannah, our host at the Estate. This exceptional woman was so knowledgeable about the wines she was presenting - giving us the full story of the grapes and the processes they go through from beginning to end. Get ready - she talks fast! But she is a sweetheart and VERY passionate about what she does. Of the three wineries/vineyards we visited that day, this is the only one I would go back to. I would have added some photos, but Trip Advisor, in their infinite wisdom, saw words or images that would have been seen as "advertising" or something like that. Sorry - the pics were fun and showed the whole group.

My friend and I were travelling around Pokolbin with my dog cupid and found Pokolbin Estate Vineyard after visiting the Hunter Olive Centre right next door.
We were greeted with a choice of where to sit. We chose the picnic tables in the garden. It was so peaceful and just what we needed.
The wines were Yum, and the service was excellent thanks for looking after us, Jacob.
My favourite wine was the Reisling.

Went to the cellar door to purchase olive oil. Ended up staying for an unplanned wine tasting. We were immediately greeted at the door by a young lady. We were a bit sceptical initially. Another young person trying to sell wines to senior oenophiles. To our amazement this young lady knew her stuff well beyond her years. Her presentation skills were exceptional. Her knowledge of the Hunter Valley wine region and the pioneers was remarkable. Hannah, you are certainly a breath of fresh air in the local Hunter Valley wine industry. Not sure the wines were up to the same standard as your presentation.

We had a lovely tasting experience today at Pokolbin estate with the General Manager. Graham was so entertaining and knowledgeable of his wines on offer. We found every wine we tasted very enjoyable. Will definitely be back for some more delicious wines. Thank you for a lovely morning.

At a wedding ceremony & reception, what is the normal dress code for men? Are jackets& ties normal or can one just wear long sleeve shirt? Late Nov weather?

Depending on the type of wedding, jackets and ties are normal, however if the wedding is more casual, a long sleeve shirt will be fine due to an increase in weather around that time of year.
