We had a tour and got to taste 5 kinds of cheeses for $8 per person. There is a winery next door so you can also do some wine tasting.

I regulalry take friends to the vineyards for a day trip and always call into Hunter Valley Cheese Factory. I purchase the $7.95 cheese tasting baord for my guests to appreciate the variation in cheeses available. The staff are always pleasant (even under pressure on busy public holiday weekends. My guests are always complimentary of the visit to this cheese... More

It's been a few years since my last visit and was really disappointed that they introduced charging for tasting which I think is a real shame! We were going out to dinner so didn't want to get full on a tasting plate and therefore didn't buy anything! Obviously sampling is a cost but surely you make it up in sales?... More

We were able to taste 5 cheeses for $8. It was a cheap and nice experience to start the day. If you want you can have more cheese and more food for very affordable price. It would be nice if the staff spend more time on describing interesting facts about their cheese (which now they do quickly in one min).

Lots on offer. Perfect for those who love cheese and picnics. Lots of seats out the front where you can dig into store bought goodies. Right next door to McGuigan wines.

If you're looking for local cheese this is a wonderful place to stop. They offer free tastings of their mustards, jams and chutneys and for $7.95 you can sample 4 of their local cheeses. The staff are friendly and welcoming which makes the experience even better. Try their rosemary, mint jelly it's delicious and a great alternative to quince paste.

Me and my partner visited here and enjoyed the cheese presentation about how the cheese is produced. The man giving the presentation was informative and friendly. He explained that the factory is moving premises as it would have been good to see more of a hands on demo but I am sure this is what will happen at the next... More

The only reason I can give this a Poor rating instead of Terrible is that two of the three people who served us were friendly and pleasant. . We were excited to find that the HVC Factory and McGuigans Winery were co-located. We had envisaged a glass of wine and a cheese platter overlooking vineyards or at least the countryside.... More

Hi foodiept, Wow, I certainly get your message - you did not have a great time with us - I hope you had other great experiences in the Hunter on your trip. My husband and I popped in here one weekend. We were greeted at the door and offered some options. We sampled some delicious olive oil and dressings and ordered a cheese platter to take away. This was generous in size and far more than we could eat in one sitting. Would recommend to others.

The staff welcomed us on entry, explaining clearly what was available and invited us to the cheese tasting. 5 cheeses from a soft goats to a strong Milawa blue which were all very good. The coffee was good without being excellent. Definitely recommend this ...
